Obviously we have to sell him unless he signs an extension, everyone knows that. Obviously (although one day he'll need to play in a bigger league) it is in our interests if he does sign an extension and continues his development here for another year or two . I think it is in his interests too tbh (look at how Larsson improved year on year here). Unfortunately I just can't see him staying, so in that sense the article means nothing.

I wouldn't say the comments in this article change nothing, though. I love the big guy and it makes me happy to know that he personally likes it here and is not agitating for a move (even if he's honest enough to have freely admitted previously that he'd like to play in the EPL one day).

I've already conceded to him and Hooper leaving, it justs seems like they are bored here. All the contract pish from both of them, if they were going to stay past summer, a contract would have been thrashed out by this stage. I'll be very very surprised if Wanyama and Hooper are celtic players come September 1st.

 

Like others I believe this is paper talk, if he was staying then he would have signed up.
I would like him to stay, but cannot see it.
Maybe if he signed a new contract we could eventually get more for him.

the reason we offer a contract extension when we do is to protect our investment , if its not signed within the time period given then 90% of the time the player will leave or be sold , end of.

All that tells me is he is happy to stay and run down his contract and get a huge signing on fee when he leaves rather than celtic getting a fee for him.
