    Still different class, despite his current form, and that's exactly what I believe it is too, poor form. For him to go from 34 goals in the 2009/10 season, to 16 in the 2010/11 season and then back up to 34 in the 2011/12 season and then back down to 16 in the 2012/13 season really messes with my head. I properly admire Rooney when I see him play, but his form right now, and as has been the last two seasons or so, has been nothing short of lacklustre. Obviously now with him being England's all time top scorer the English media will have to be really reluctant to say anything bad about him, which may only make things worse for Rooney, but i'd love to see him get another prime season under his belt.

    A few years ago I'd have argued that he was world class, and at one point he was. I think he's no-where near that tag any more. He's been on a slow decline for a while and I think a mixture of confidence, fitness and a lack of hunger are behind it.

    I'm not debating he was a top player but he was put in the trio bracket from those (ok mainly down here) with Messi and Ronaldo and even on the front cover of game's with them as well..

    He's only in his prime, 29, you'd think the way he's been going the last year or 2, that he was in his early to mid 30's..

    Cheers:50: I've had Ferguson autobiography for about a year but not read it yet. Was out of it because I read he left a lot of good stuff out.
