  1. I've always like Broony, least the last few years but watching him these last few games has been depressing. If it was any other player he would be getting subbed for sure. I just hope it isn't doing more damage to his confidence than a spell in the Development Squad would. I mean you look at his facial expression and it's as if he is miles away when normally he's totally focused and in people's faces.

Tierney would make a more influential captain right now.

  2. Ive always had a similar viewpoint on him.

  3.
  4. I think he is playing injured. Looks a bit indecisive and getting shrugged off ball too easy. Wonder who got his sweat shirt today

  5. Wasn't being serious mate :smiley-laughing002:

Doesn't look fit at all, think he rushed back. He'll get back to his best though, no doubt about that.

  6. I don't think he will, i think he is close to being finished frankly. Injuries have really taken their toll, lost his pace, seems to have lost a bit of strength, key parts to his game.

  7.
  8. Going to hold off for a few more games in the hope it's just an injury or whatever, but today was honestly the worst performance I can remember from him.

    Something definitely isn't right.

  9. Doesn't look anywhere close to match fitness, which is why he's getting caught on the ball and getting shrugged off. It's no coincidence that it happened more as the game wore on.

He's still one of the most important players at the club.

  10. Should be dropped

  11. Then you're * blind. Broonie did 100x more than just * around with Diouf. He's been the silent engine in our team for years, doing the heavy lifting and break up plays off the ball. He's been firing up the disheartened and firing a rocket up the holes of anyone who wasn't trying. He's took stressful sessions as captain, crunching tackles as our midfield and has dished out on our behalf on every front. He's been like losing a limb when injured/suspended for years now...

To hear people trashing him because he's just back from a long and mucky injury that he got from being worn out giving us his all and hasn't immediately turned us around is galling, if I'm being honest... in a couple of years time he'll be gone and then people will realise what he gave/did for us

  12. Rested... it's a small, but very distinct semantic, based upon a lot of EARNED respect...

  13. Spot on.

  14. Good post.

I'd have thought he's done more than enough over the years to have earned a bit of slack from the fans in the period after coming back from a few months out. He's been playing 90 mins when we should really have been easing him back in.

But then football fans, especially on the internet, are a fickle bunch with short memories.

I suspect nobody will be complaining in a months time when he's back to full fitness and bossing the midfield against Rangers.

  15. * superb post :50:

  16. * spot on mate. Broony is the heart of the team. Without him we are *.

  17. Good post alright. I despair at people who always give it the old "never understood why people rate him so highly" after he gives a below average performance.

  18. There is a difference between those who argue he is on the wane, of which there is a decent argument to be had, and then there is superleigh who doesn't know his * from his elbow by the looks of things.

  19. I agree that he has to be rested! His style of play is very much reliant on his energy and drive. It will come back after a little spell out of the side.
