    Played well.

I'm not a fan as I've made clear throughout this thread but if he can keep it simple he is useful. Then again there is always a slip in him or loss of concentration(misreading that header from the corner where McGowan should have capitalised)

Fair dues overall though but I won't get carried away.

That's it. I feel like he does this every once in a while. Has a few good games then the next thing you know he's making a * of a header back to Gordon and we concede.:smiley-laughing002:

Will never understand you Efe haters, a proven international that loves the hoops, yes he is prone to a error. But as demonsrated tonight he is a lot better than that diddy boyata who has only played about 10 senior games in his whole life yet this forum seem to think is better.

He was brilliant last night as he kept it simple .
The problem is when he tries to be clever and thinks he can play the ball out of trouble and gets caught short

As I've said before, he was key in us getting us to the last 16 of the cl and was part of a partnership that help us set a clean sheet record, he's not a bad player when he keeps it simple.

Simunovic looks more confident/comfortable with Ambrose's pace to protect.

"Now I don't try to play out on my own by taking risks. The manager doesn't want me to take risks.
"Like a midfielder I tried to play, I tried to do too much, but now I'm trying to put that behind me.
"He has helped me to improve my game and I need to realise that defending first you need to concentrate to do the simple thing.
"Defend first - anything else is a bonus."

Quotes from him prior to yesterday's game. If he keeps its simple as he's claiming he is going to then he might be a more dependable player for us & one worth keeping. Certainly worked yesterday.

Has done not bad of late, still got a fair bit to go as a couple of decent performances does not all of a sudden wipe the slate clean of being horrific since Feb 2013 :smiley-laughing002:

In turn you'd say Ambrose looks a lot more comfortable playing alongside Simunovic. It's a two-way thing. Hopefully their partnership will blossom even further to the extent that they'll be ready going into the qualifiers. It'll be good to have our defence sorted well in advance instead of having new players having to fit in with others wanting to leave.

Efe is cracking when confident but you know at some point if he makes a mistake his confidence goes to * and we're back to * Efe. Boyata has been pretty consistent, he's a solid defender with good pace like Efe & good in the air but not comfortable at all with the ball at his feet.
They've both played well in next to Jozo though, they are good back up if we can get Sviatchenko in.

Thought Boyata was playing well too before his injury and with another CB looking like joining us, there should be a bit of depth at CB..

Efe will always have good games...and he will always have * ups....depending on how important the game is will determine how bad the * up is....might cost us a few points....or millions.

Problem is, you know there's a mistake in him, as do other teams, and there fans, so they target him, and that makes him more likely to make mistakes.
He was fantastic when we made the last sixteen though, but so was Samaras I don't know if he can keep living off that hope

If you can't understand why people don't rate Ambrose then you obviously haven't watched Celtic for the past 4 year.

One good game against a rotten United side with Simon Murray up front and he's a new player. Give me a break, man.

It's promising but people need to settle right down. There's a reason we are on the cusp of signing a new CB.

Another thing is, he had a good game yet still nearly cost us a goal with a mis-timed jump at that corner. McGowan should have buried it.

He always has a mistake in him. Many centre halfs do but him more than others.

Every Celtic fan knows Efe is more than capable of being a good solid cb, but after Juventus he was never the same, still can do a job in the team and happy to have him as back up.

Of course cause we need a commanding, experienced ball playing centre back.

Jozo made a few mistakes, got drawn to the ball for their goal not his full fault though. Efe saved Lustigs * through out the game, if it wasn't for Efe they would of had more chances.
