Ambrose looks a lot older than he says he is, and I have run out of obscenties to describe his uselessness.

Lost count of the amount of times I have tried to get that point across as well.

Aye Ledley and Wanyama were really intelligent defensive players, even better than Brown. So now we have really been left with our 3rd best defensive midfielder as our best and we also generally play more open now than we did then aswell so we're far less secure at the back.

Perhaps, but I certainly don't want to see Ambrose take on of their places. That would be a massive backwards step. I would rather see Mulgrew put back to centre half over Ambrose.

    Who knows.

I would never have thought we could pick up a player like Van dijk at centre half but then out of nowhere he signed, the vast majority on here had never heard of him even though he was highly rated in Holland.

Those players are out there. That phrase gets chucked about alot but they most definitely are. Especially in leagues such as Holland and Belgium. Although we cannot attract 'big' players anymore we can still offer alot more in terms of wages than many other clubs around our level in Europe right now.

Also, although I don't like it being this way, many young ambitious players will see us as a gateway to bigger and brighter things in the holy grail that seems to be English Premier League.

One thing is for sure, I am very confident we could find a more capable centre half than Ambrose if they are both to leave.

These players are out there; but it'* and miss. At any given point we'll be doing better in some areas than others: that's the nature of our model. For instance we have a better back 4 now than I've seen since MON but a weaker midfield and strikeforce than we've had for a while.

    Swings and roundabouts.

    Ambrose is a decent player.

He started out his Celtic career in midfield and he looked brilliant (granted it was against Raith)... It'd be interesting to see him play there again.

the guy is a bombscare. How can anyone think he could play in midfield, can't tackle, can't pass (evident again on Sat) can't header the ball, positional sense non-existent = Get rid. People may have a soft spot for him but he is a really poor football player he must go.

I agree it was one of the best debuts i have ever seen. I think he should get a go as a holding player. He is fast so can get over and cover for the full backs and he is good on the ball.

His passing is absolutely abysmal though and he does get caught in possesion a lot, even though he is good on the ball.

Ronny has to take Ambrose off at half time and put Mulgrew at the back with Kayal in the middle. Ambrose is a ticking time bomb.

He needs to sort his 50p head out but otherwise ok

Thought he was going all the way there in the first half

    He was actually decent tonight.

Hopefully his last game for a long time, though.
