    Ambrose is not Celtic class but neither are several other players. Ambrose is extremely useful as a scapegoat/mascot (delete as applicable), however.

    That's because he can be lazy and makes a lot of mistakes. He's absolutely infuriating to watch at times.

    ...and absolutely delightful other times.

    He's making more and more mistakes, no doubt, but the abuse he gets is out of all proportion to the abuse other players get for mistakes.

    Mulgrew for example is practically a saint who can do no wrong for some of our supporters.

    No doubt he is on a bad run of form at the moment and it's shocking to watch. Should be benched for now.

    Needs to be paired with a dominant centre half who will keep him in check. Also needs our left back to get his * finger out. If the rest of our team were performing to their ability, I don't think anyone would be complaining about Ambrose.

    He's always been in a bad run of form he won't be benched now that Lustig and Matthews are out I know he should be but I am just thinking what RD is thinking he played Ambrose over Denayer because Ambrose has more experience at a european level

    Ambrose was also like this for many up until very recently though. (I'm not a defender of Mulgrew btw)

    Fans defended him by saying he is only being used as the scapegoat due to the Juve game etc when in actual fact he was the root of the problem alot of the time. But no, because he could dribble with the ball, do a wee dance and then lose it, he was defended.

    I'd have him out of the side before most others, just don't rate the guy defensively at all.

    Mulgrew isn't as hit or miss as Ambrose in my opinion though. Mulgrew is an effective, solid SPFL level defender. Ambrose is a * bombscare.

    No doubt that Ambrose is one of our weakest and most erratic players.

    Nevertheless, he gets disproportionate abuse for his mistakes.

    The only upside to recent performances is that this bullshit "people just hate him for the Juventus game" argument is now invalid.

    He is beyond *. Even in our current state, he is not good enough for Celtic. At this point, I'd happily see him replaced by pretty much any SPFL Premiership centre-back.

    Imagine Ambrose played for Motherwell, and we were being linked with him. The fans would be up in arms.
