Efe Ambrose

Plenty people on here saying he was the new wanyama,also plenty people saying he was garbage,I was one of them who thinks he was garbage,have not changed my opinion mind

A poor poor player on our books.

Considering he has been so dodgy recently, I thought he was much better yesterday.

Hopefully picking up his game for the cup final. Thought he was solid with Wilson.

 

Will we be without him for the CL qualifiers because I'm sure he's in Nigeria's Confederations Cup squad?

 

Wouldn't be a big loss anyway, need a proper CB this summer

 

I Like how fans just dismiss players as useless garbage after an underpar performance................

 

For the record Im a big fam of Efe, hes a African Cup of Nations winner too!

He's had more than one.

I actually like Ambrose. He has his uses - I'm sure his versatility will come in handy next season. He is backup for Lustig and Matthews as well as his more preferred roles at centre half and central midfield.

Not a starter though, not for me anyway. With Rogne probably offski, I'd be bringing in a new centre half and he'd be fourth choice CB behind him, Mulgrew and Wilson. 5th choice central midfielder too. If Wanyama or Kayal go I'd probably not bring anyone in unless they are 100% going to go straight into the team, I'd be fairly happy with Ambrose as one of the 4 central midfielders.

Like I said though, he adds depth and will have his uses.

 

I'm still unsure on Efe, he's had too many poor or sub-standard performances but then you look at the way he played against Barca and he shows how well he can play but then throws in some bad games, I don't mind him as a back up to Wilson and Mulgrew

 

I understand your verdict you give but I think hes very underrated by fans because hes not been great recently, but that doesnt mean he cant live up to our expectations eventually - maybe his form could improve dont you think, ?

 

I have seen him have one good game and that for me isn't enough

The two Barca performances were excellent, and he's had some decent games in the league.

 

He had a cracker of a debut as well if I remember rightly, albeit against Raith Rovers

 

Our fans have a habit of doing that. Winds me up!

 

I've seen him have more bad games than I have good games

Therefor IMO he's a poor player

 

I think hes a DECENT player and will be a regular next year

 

He was doing well up until the African Nations, he is a fantastic athlete and I'm confident he will resemble Wilson's turn around next season. Last season he was crap, this time round he was excellent. Once Ambrose cuts out the mistakes and keeps his concentration levels up he will cement a first team place.
