    making him take a pay cut ? what is he , 29/30 , i believe robben is 31 , RVP is 31 , ronaldo is 29 , Henrik Larsson was 30 in the treble season and 32 in seville . People are so concerned about age , resale value etc ...players are at their best around the age of 30 imo, Commons has never relied on his pace so i think it is pathetic he has been given a pay cut . Fair play to Celtic if he signs it but i think it is unfair on a great player for us .

    How much of a pay cut though?

    Regardless of what Deila has said I don't see him in the side as much as he was under Lennon, he is aging and a player like him is going to decline rapidly as he gets older. I certainly wouldn't have offered him a rise that's for sure.

    Probably lying, like that guys mate who claimed he was taking a 4k per week pay cut. Before a contract is signed, there is no way of knowing what is actually going to be agreed.

    Its is rumoured a two year deal £16, 000 down to £12,000. Commons will be almost 34 when deal expires . Arsenal have a policy of nobody over 30 getting longer than a one year deal. This new contract runs from June 2015 /2017 . I would be surprised if Kris plays many full games in this new contract .

    What is he on at the moment though? If I knew the exact number then I'd maybe have a different view.

    I seem to remember him being one of our highest earners at around £20k, well when he originally signed that was how much he was on because I'm sure the huns offered £15k.
