He talks a lot more sense than Lennon does in post match interviews. Lennon thinks Matthews played well, Commons thinks we need a striker.

To be fair, he is right.

It's just that we would have more confidence in a pricier player:smiley-laughing002:

I forgot being a manager was all about a good post match interview.

Not surprised. He seems much more intelligent than Lennon when it comes to analysing what went wrong, it's no surprise he gets frustrated at times.

Think Commons is a smashing player. Relying on him as heavily as we do, though, is unsustainable. The creating and taking of chances falls on his shoulders all too often.

I don't even rate Lennon that much as a manager but for you to say that and "believe it" makes me think you're trolling.

Your claim in saying a 30 year old man with no managerial experience whatsoever would be a better manager than Lennon is because he said "we need a striker"? Something that 99% of our support AND Lennon knows?

    Ok mate:50:

I don't see what you have to complain about in his post?

He is correct, just because someone warrants a large transfer fee doesn't mean the signing will work out.

Plenty of our best players over the years have been cheap, and plenty of our biggest flops have been multiple million pound deals.

I didn't say because he said we needed a striker. He has pointed out Lennons poor choices on more than one occasion. Look them up.

I was saying Commons would be a better manager in a facetious sense anyway, I obviously wouldn't know that. But Lennon's ridiculous decisions at times makes you wonder.

Players are valued for a reason. Although every transfer is to an extent a gamble, the more their worth the better they tend to be. Otherwise the whole concept of the market is wrong.

Celtic: Kris Commons says squad needs rebuilt for next season

Kris Commons believes Celtic's squad should be rebuilt following their "disappointing" Champions League campaign. The 6-1 drubbing by Barcelona left Celtic bottom of Group H with three points and no Europa League place.

"We need to rebuild for next year because the target is to qualify for this competition again, we need to have a long look at ourselves and get back in to training."
Commons said Celtic were playing for pride in the Nou Camp but had fallen below their expectations.”

“Replacing someone like Gary Hooper is going to cost between £6m and £10m and at the minute we are not willing to spend that. Once those couple of goals went in before half time we started to lose our shape and became a little bit disjointed."

"We lost that fight, that desire to stop them putting balls in the back of our net and that's something we haven't struggled with in the last 18 months in this competition. Barcelona have outstanding players and it's a very difficult job to stop them."

"We managed it in the last couple of games but we just didn't have that will to win right from the first whistle. We need to have a long look at ourselves and get back in to training."

"We've not performed to the levels we're capable of, we need to rebuild for next year because the target is to qualify for this competition again. We've got a lot of good characters and the manager wants to strengthen again with players that can take us to the next level because we have lost some big players."

Commons, who is the club's leading scorer this season with 10 goals, said the side lacked a consistent goal threat.

"In a Celtic team you are looking for a striker to get you 20-30 goals," he said. "At the minute, we haven't quite got that. I know people are working hard on and off the field to try to get us the goals but replacing someone like Gary Hooper is going to cost you between £6m and £10m and at the minute we are not willing to spend that."

"Looking back at the first AC Milan game; we played really well over there and came away with nothing. That's kind of been the story of this campaign. We've not had a great deal of lady luck, we've not really performed to the levels we know we are capable of."

"There are fine lines at this level. The mistakes we've made have been punished and the chances we had we didn't put away. We've been playing well in the league but not shown it in the Champions League. This is cut throat level football."

Celtic, Celtic, thats the team for me
    He's fat, he's slow, he's Celtic's gallus artillery man.

Ach, I'm poor at lyrics. Reminiscent of David Potters describtion of Joe Cassidy.
