commons has struggled since the barca game along with a lot of other players sometimes you need to play throught the problems, just needs a few things to go for us for it to turn round.

 

I would naturally be of this opinion but Commons has shown a significant dip in form and needs to be rested as he hasn't managed to play his way back to a decent performance for several games now.

Rest him, let him recover from whatever is bringing his standard down, and then he can be a starter again.

 

It's a bit deeper than that though; rest won't be enough to sort the whole problem: it's a mental thing too - he's making bad decisions here, there and everywhere. He needs to be discouraged from haphazardly shooting from long-distance at pretty much every opportunity. Also needs to be more patient with his play in general.

Not his best performance the night, could have had two goals but... what a ball for Lassad's goal.

 

Not a great performance tonight - the usual losing of the ball and hoofing it at the opposition goal as soon as he can see the goalkeeper.

But completely redeemed himself by getting it right up the diet filth.

This is also important in matches like this.

Common's keepy uppy with the ball made the Heart's players think he was taking the pish out of them :icon_mrgreen:

Probably Lennon persisting with Commons because he is our most experienced creative player just now with Forrest out, and knowing if he benches him for any time, Kris is the type of player who would get ring rusty pretty quickly. Will probably want a fit Commons for this vital Spartak Moscow game, where he is always capable of making or taking a goal

Have to completely agree with this unfortunately.

 

I think this is what we need to take from this match in regard to Commons.

Maybe he can be benched and just brought out for matches against them, it would be intensely entertaining.

 

Better than the weekend, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Apart from his excellent assisst for Lassad, his touch evaded him far too often and too many moves broke down with him.

 

i agree commons was poor apart from his assist. start samaras wide left and miku or watt in place of hooper for a few games i think. both need a fire lit under them

 

Thought it was going to be one of those games for him again. He missed that chance Hooper set up for him and then he dilly dallied on the edge of our box for no reason and we conceded a corner. He upped his game after that though had had a ridiculous assist.
