2013/14 Champions League Qualification

I see Barcelona away is our last match in the group. That could be positive if they're already through and play a B side like last year against Benfica.

 

If the barca fixture was reversed for me the fixtures would have been perfect..

At home against there weakened side I'd have fancied away,not so sure..

If we can get 4 points from Ajax a win at home to Milan and a point at home to barca we'll be in with a shout at least..

3rd spot is definitely up for grabs

same mate, wanted different teams, pleased with Ajax though.
All 6 games will be hard for celtic we will do well to get 6 pts imo.

 

Not too disappointed with this group. Did not want Barcelona...simply because it seems we always play them in the CL. But either way...they will win this group easily

I don't really rate AC Milan nowadays...they are good, but no way near as good as the last times we played them when they had Pirlo, Kaka, Inzaghi, etc. Reckon we will do well against them, would expect a win at home, but San Siro has always been tough place for us but have to be a bit optimistic that we can get something, even a draw would be brilliant result for us.

Ajax I reckon will be much tougher than most of us may expect. But seems Eriksen is about to joins Spurs, big big loss for them...we should be a match for them but its going to be tough.

 

If Boateng and Eriksen leave their respective clubs my positivity about our chances will raise tenfold..

 

Barca, with a new manager at the helm and having strengthened, should be expected to make a statement by walking the group.

The second qualification place is completely open though.

 

Just thinking, when was the last time a champions league group had 4 previous winners in it. And 16 times winners just in our group

 

Apparently Eriksen and Alderweirald are close to leaving Ajax. I would fancy AC Milan to pay the fee to get Keisuke Honda in now before January. He would be a bigger threat to us than Boateng.

 

We lost Wanyama and Hooper. That's like Barca losing Xavi and Messi.

 

Boateng is officialy a Schalke player.

 

Even without them you'd stil fancie barca to win it all lol

 

If we had our team from last year, or bring in players that turn out to be of similar quality between here and the deadline, I'd fancy getting that 2nd qualification place.

Without either scenario however, it's hard to look past AC and Ajax battling for 2nd. With Celtic maybe snatching the Europa League place if it goes to the wire.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he has a blinder against us.
