Played well this year. His passing remains dreadful but although he still aimlessly kicks it out of play now and again he's learned when to just give it to the ball players better now.

Anyone that tells you Brown's passing being poor is a myth doesn't watch Celtic week in and week out.

He has plenty of positive attributes, passing is not one of them.

His passing has improved this year - not as great as some of our other players, but definitely improved to a decent/good standard.......

And this is coming from someone who watches Celtic week in - week out (mostly in person).

The same accusation could be levelled at somebody who claims Scott Brown is 'dreadful' at passing. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they were talking out their ring.

Yip it has improved, mainly because his decision making has, but you can guarantee he will make a poor pass every game. Contrast that with someone like Ledley, you notice when he makes a poor pass because it is an extremely rare occurence.

    Not even close.

We'll have to agree to disagree regarding Broonaldo's passing ability :icon_mrgreen:

He's the worst CM we have in terms of passing. I'm okay with that (mostly) because he brings a lot of other things to the table.

Even Ledders has a poor pass now and again.

Think "Slick" Vic has been one of the worst offenders of this lately when he has been playing in midfield.

Aye Brown is prone to the odd mis-placed pass, but one of the things I really cannot fault him on this season as he has made a significant improvement.

It puzzles me endlessly how people some people seem to randomly assign players the tag 'Good passer' and bad..

Ki is known is a good passer and this is just utter *, maybe on a couple of occassions he has pinged a decent long ball as any midfielder should be moderately capable of this. But for a supposedly gifted passer he is pretty poor when it comes to passing.

Then people say Brown has bad passing, which again seems to be the opposite of the truth. While he may not attempt to switch play and long balls regularly he is one of the best in our squad at holding onto and regaining possession. Due to good short passing and not giving it to marked players. Brown is also capable of a defence splitting pass, prime example in the match against rangers where we lost 4-2 when he did a superb fake pass into Hoopers path who curled it in along the ground. Don't ever think Ki would have tried that.

Brown doesn't have "bad passing" as such, but I think his poor passes and mistakes are more important and big, like when he gives it away he tends to do in the middle of our half with no cover, leaving the opposition to counter and score :31:

Ledley, Commons and Wanyama, i've noticed whenever they give it away it's normally much higher up the pitch and never results in anything catastrophic. I suppose that's just because of where Broony plays, Lenny has him basically like a sweeper just moving about the front of the defence around the halfway line, would like him to get forward more often as he can really hit the ball but he never shoots.

That must be why Ki has double the assists that Brown has despite playing less games this season.

There are a couple of legitimate things you can fault Ki for not his passing ffs :56:
