I'm usually not a Broon fan at all but I think he saved us from embarrassment in the first half yesterday..really carried the team on his back.

I'm re-enforcing what most people are saying here, but I was Brown's biggest critic when he joined us. I couldn't get my head around the fact that we forked out 4.4 million for a Hibernian midfielder. For years I wished it was us that got Kevin Thompson and them Broony.

But last season I thought he answered all his critics big time. He offers something to Celtic, it is almost intangible but the team seem to have more drive when he is playing. I love the kind of player he is, he doesn't get bullied on the pitch and he doesn't take any pish from the huns.

    Hats off Broony :D

BROWN work rate you say, when the end result is this "nothing". a Blackpool donkey has a good work rate, but at the end of the day, its still a "donkey"
the two guys KI and BROWN. do not help the forward line and they do not help the back line most of there play puts presure on our defence with there back passing and in any one game the two of them have 90% back passing to 10% forward passing moves, our keeper is for ever kicking the ball up the park from back passing, why the * cant brown just kick the ball into the Dee area,, simple they haven't got the frigging skill needed, to put it there, why is Brown always chasing some *, but its never the other ways around. and it is only chasing he is doing, nothing more. BROWN does do some running about, but as far as offering something to the game, forget it. he is way of the pace when skill is needed.

If you can't see how Brown's work rate affects the overall team performance, that's too bad for you. I'm not his biggest fan as he is somewhat lacking in footballing ability but it's clear as day that his inclusion in the side benefits us.

Think you might have been watching The Boston Celtic mate, cause you've got be having a laugh here.

Like I said on my previous post, I was NOT a Scott Brown fan at all! But you can't question his performances of late, if you deem yourself sane anyway.

Scott Brown rolls out the welcome mat for new boys then asks squad to rock on

Scott Brown has helped players like Victor Wanyama settle in
    EXCLUSIVE by ALISON McCONNELL

SCOTT BROWN strides through the Lennoxtown doors every day, proudly pulls on his captain’s armband and makes it his mission to greet the new arrivals through the revolving door with open arms.

The midfielder is keen to make the new Bhoys feel at ease instantly to speed up the integration process and foster the one-for-all and all-for-one attitude stamped into the Celtic psyche.

There’s a title to be won and, although Neil Lennon failed to add to his burgeoning squad on transfer deadline day, Polish forward Pawel Brozek, Nigerian Rabiu Ibrahim and Swedish defender Mikael Lustig had already swelled the ranks in January.

Central defender Jaroslaw Fojut will join up this summer after agreeing a pre-contract.

“We welcome people coming into the dressing room,” said Brown. “As soon as there are any new faces we are pretty welcoming and go out of our way to try and help them settle and get used to things pretty quickly.

“That is just because we all want the team to get better, to be the best it can be.

“It is not about who is playing in what position or what competition there might be, first and foremost we want to be successful as a team and as a club.

“There are so many games over the course of a season that, when you look at the squad, you need everyone pulling together.

“Just look at the amount of injuries we had at the start of the season – at one point it seemed that there would be no space left in the treatment room. So everyone plays their part over a campaign and I think everyone appreciates that.

“Everyone here wants to be here. The lads are enjoying their football and the atmosphere on the training ground is good. I think the new lads coming into the team will fit quite quickly into it because we are a good bunch of lads.

I think that the new lads will fit in quite quickly as we are a good bunch here
“I think players always like to see new players coming in. I don’t think people feel threatened.

“You always want to play with good players and if the manager thinks that he can strengthen by adding a few other bodies then it’s seen as what is best for the team.

“At the end of the day, we all want success. We want to make the club successful and we want to be a part of that success.”

While the feelgood factor at Lennoxtown does not need to be remarked upon, it is not Celtic’s winning sequence of 14 games that has revealed the character within the squad, but rather the manner in which they united in adversity.

Brown cut a frustrated figure as Celtic threatened to unravel in the early months of the season – his troublesome ankle injury meaning his influence was restricted to cajoling his colleagues from the sidelines – but the way the team dug themselves out of a hole has underlined the camaraderie within.

The nucleus of the squad is unchanged from last term when Celtic fell at the final hurdle to lose the league title, but Brown believes the current squad have learned a few lessons since then.

“The lads have really matured over the last year,” he said. “I think it is a good team to play in just now.

“We have learned a lot from each other over the last 18 months or so, and much of that was learned when things weren’t going quite so well.

“Now that things are going well for us on the park, I think we are all enjoying playing football and there is a good team spirit about us. It is a great dressing room.”

Celtic will attempt to maintain their Treble aspirations this weekend when head to Inverness to face Terry Butcher’s men in the Scottish Cup, swiftly followed by a trip to Tynecastle next midweek.

Hoops’ recent history at the venues adds spice and Brown is expecting a demanding reception from both hosts.

“You have to earn the right to win a game,” he said. “If you want to be the best then you need to go to difficult grounds and win.

“That is the mark of any championship-winning side.”

Celtic’s last encounter with Hearts, when the teams met in Glasgow in December, may well prove to be one of the most significant victories of the season for Lennon’s side. They held out for all three points when Fraser Forster saved a last-minute penalty from Eggert Jonsson.

It meant at that point that they remained within touching distance of Rangers – who were four points ahead – rather than slipping six behind.

As the whistle blew on that one, Brown was embroiled in a bit of ‘verbals’ with Hearts’ Jamie Hamill, but he doesn’t expect to renew hostilities when the sides clash once more.

The incident adds to the long-running list of ugly exchanges between the two clubs, the most notable of which was the fan fracas with boss Lennon last year as he stood on the Tynecastle touch- line.

But Brown added: “The Hearts game is the same as any other – we want to win because we want to try and win the league.

“They are all difficult games. There isn’t a game in the SPL that you don’t have to fight for the points in.”

great interview by broony and whatever your opinion is of him as a player the whole squad seem to value him and are constantly saying how good a captain he is. I for 1 am very happy to have him as captain and hope it stays that way for a long time

Good to hear Keevins saying he voted Broony POTM. That's coming from a non-fan of his.

Always liked Brown but how i rate him tends to vary slightly, think he was good for a while and dropped off a bit but now he's been moved back to the middle i think he's been top drawer! :50:

Dunno how people can slate Brown's qualities as a captain never mind a player.
