Hopefully they have a huge sale unlike the * at comet instead of selling stock onto the likes of Amazon and play or other online retailers

Play also quits as retailer (and will soon only function as a market place).

Strange evolution. Couple of years ago I mainly bought from Play and sometimes from HMV. Now it is only Amazon.co.uk and sometimes a Dutch online retailer. Amazon.co.uk is doing great at the moment.

I think the worst thing about the vouchers in this case is that they almost certainly knew over christmas this was coming and yet they continued to sell vouchers to the public, proper scummy move.

So bad that people are losing out with vouchers.

I nearly ordered £300 worth online two days ago, glad now i didnt.

If anyone knows of in store items being reduced even further please let us know.

Not honouring the vouchers is pretty low. The bosses are effectively stealing from customers. They must have known this was coming. I read that their blue cross sale was a last attempt to boost the takings - clearly they knew they were screwed. Feel for the staff. Luckily the HMV group sold off Waterstones in 2011, or else there would be no record or book stores, except indies.

With Comet, Jessops and now HMV/FOPP, seems like the idea of high street shopping really is dying

Apparently they are not taking vouchers now.

Don't know if they can be transferred to a Newco, you'll need to ask Chucky Green/ The SFA/Fifa.

I and others turned up at HMV this morning with gift vouchers to be denied their redemption. At that point I doubt if they were in administration. The refusal to accept vouchers if they weren't was essentially theft. I am still unclear if they have actually entered administration.
