    You lie! :icon_mrgreen:

In all competitive games this season our record is as follows:

    Scott Brown starts
    W8 D2 L3

    Scott Brown does not start
    W12 D4 L2

In games he has started, we have a 62% win rate.
In games he has not started, we have a 67% win rate.

Brown plays and we lose would be nearer the truth than what you've said - although, of course, neither simplification is true.

Adam Matthews will tell you the exact same thing which Metro has just said.

Well he's hardly gonna come out and say he plays * when Brown plays is he ?

The amount of times we got exposed down that flank yesterday was a disgrace thanks to SB trying to play CM instead of sticking to his position.

Then again, maybe he does raise his game when Brown plays, not out of choice though.

Thougt he had a good game yesterday, took players on, went by them and got balls in the box. Also put players under pressure, did the defensive side well.
I don't get why people assume he'll be an automatic starter? Yes he's our captain, but surely Lenny realises that everyone has to earn his place. Our strongest midfield IMO would read Forrest, Kayal, Wanyama, Commons. All these players have been injured this season, bar Wanyama who has had to fill in in defence a lot. So I don't think that players have been dropped or moved just to accomodate Brown, it's just a case of him coming in because of injuries.

    Obviously not......

I'll take Matthews word for it though.

Say what you like about Scott Brown but I think it is noticeable that he is a good influence on the team when he plays. Was never a big fan of him as captain but the players and management seem to be happy with him so who am I to complain.

    Totally.

We play attacking fullbacks - have done for years. When you do that, your wide midfielder is meant to cover for the fullback when he bombs forward. Half the time Brown is miles infield needling some opposing player, instead of doing his * job. There is a reason United were * ripping us apart by putting everything down that side of the park, and it was not any failing in Adam Matthews.

Brown was leaving him totally exposed.

Young Adam played yesterday with a virus which might explain why he was out of sorts. Come on Bhoys blaming how another player plays on another player just doesn't make sense.

Seems every week Broony plays we see a repeat comment debate going over the same old pro's and con's of Broony playing.

We see exactly the same thing with Ki, Loovens, Sammy and one or two others.

Not one for slating Broony, I do love his energy and drive but yesterday it wasn't there for me at all. Thought he had a bit of a shocker, if i'm honest.

Who's blaming how Matthews played on Brown? I'm blaming how Brown played on Brown. Watch the game again on vid - he gets dragged out of position constantly.

But that's his game all over. He just bolts like a maddie in whatever direction takes his fancy, no regard for the shape of the team.

As I said earlier in the thread, I thought he had an OK game by his standards, some good contributions going forward. But the deficiencies in his play seem glaringly obvious to me, and second half against DU we were getting absolutely steamrollered down our right flank. Matthews had to last-ditch it a number of times to save the situation.

When we play with Brown on the right or Ledley on the left it's as a player to cover the left and make it three in the middle when the other winger goes up to support the strikers, basically a 433. It's not dragged out of position. That's Lennys tactics.

Broony played awful yesterday but he still made a * load of tackles to win possesion back.

Hand maybe I picked you up wrong and if so I apologise. As for your opinion as to Brown's overall general faults I can't say I'd disagree there. But he has been like that since day one and the players tend to adjust their game to suit when he goes off on one. Trouble is it doesn't always work and like yesterday we do get exposed down the flank.

Lennon needs to stop bending over backwards to accommodate for this guy. He has limited ability and constantly looking to agrovate a situation rather than take the captains stance and defuse situations and use it to spur on the rest of the team.

Captain my back side! The Bly time I seen the guy stick to his position (furthest away part of the field from Lenny) was when our chips where down. He hid!

Every neutral who seen that match has said they thought Broony was great, so did the commentators and I bet so did the management. I think some fans just have an attitude to the guy which means any errors or below par periods are just seized on. Nothing will ever persuade me that Broony is accepted as one of us by these fans. For them his face will never fit and he will always be singled out even on a day when neutrals and commentators were raving about him. I saw with my own eyes Broony put in a superb all action performance where he was a major cog in the team and did a great shift to help out a dodgy matthews against a talented Dundee United left side.

Come on, wee bit of exaggeration surely ? Why would 'his face not fit' ? Some folk just see him for what he is, whereas some see something in him which they like in a player.

Just dont agree. Thought it was his best game of the season. The commentators on Celtic TV (who dont generally love the guy) were raving about him too.

Definitely not the his best game of the season, his two performances against Rangers were far better. He done his usual work off the ball yesterday but his distribution was pish, generally because our team forgot how to move off the ball in the second half.

Would have scored if Stokes wasn't in greedy * mode though.

If you think yesterday was his best game of the season then you must be either related to him or you purposefully see what you want to see. Ok answer me this, say Beram or Ledley had played like Brown did yesterday would you have said it was their best game of the season?
