With Commons back, Forrest returning and Ledley capable of playing wide if we need a central midfielder wide - the quicker Brown is out this team the better, although I really can't see Lennon dropping him. It's the one thing that annoys me about Lennon, Brown is an automatic starter.

How low must our ambition be if energy, drive & dig alone can get you a starting spot. We've got midfielders that are better than Brown defensively and we've certainly got midfielders that are far better offensively. I still can't believe he is our captain.

I'm not a huge critic, there's just no place in the team for Brown in my eyes.

"Drive and dig," haha good one. That's the same thing that got him skinned by Mackay Steven about 3 times in the space of 10 seconds.

He was atrocious today and his touch for a professional footballer is a * joke. People say that Matthews had a bad game, but in all honesty Brown didn't help because he never provided an outlay for Matthews and just played the ball back to him because he can't go by a man.

There were two occasions today when Mulgrew played an excellent cross-field ball to Brown finding him in space and the first time he almost tripped over the ball trying to go by a man and the second time he played a rank pass. The other piece of play that stands out was when he actually turned his marker and Matthews made an overlapping run, Brown then proceeded to attempt a through ball down the wing but instead played the ball into touch from about 8yds...

He was easily our worst player today and when Dundee Utd were pressing and we needed someone to grab the game by the balls (which is something you look for in a captain and seeing as he has so much "drive and dig" you'd think he would shine in that kind of situation,) but the simple fact of the matter was, he was nowhere to be found.

The sooner he's dropped the better. We've tried to accommodate him in the middle of the park (his natural position) and that didn't work and quite frankly he is not a patch on our 4 other centre mids. We've tried to play him on the right and I'll admit he is slightly better out there but this is because he is under less pressure, but he doesn't provide anything going forward he just fills a spot, but defensively he does a job and breaks up play quite well down that flank.

He should never be captain. This ensures he will be an automatic pick. It's the same problem we had with McManus, there are better options available but he is an automatic pick because he's captain. Which stunts the development of our more talented players.

His second season form was good and he proved his worth to everyone however he doesn't do it often enough and next to Ledley, Kayal, Wanyama and Ki his flaws are highlighted, especially his lack of technical ability.

IMO had we not paid such stupid money for him he would have been sold by now.

David Murray could control the ball better than Brown

He shouldn't be starting, doesn't make any sense- nevermind be captain.

Brown has been playing well of late.

He brings more desire, drive and fight to the team than any other player!

All good having that but when you cant pass 5 yards it becomes null and void.

    Bit harsh methinks!

Anyway... his drive, fight and desire becomes extra important when you consider that there really isn't anyone else in the Celtic team who consistently brings all of those qualities for 90 mins every match!

We play 'pretty' football and we look great when things are going our way, but our confidence is appalling! The minute the tide turns slightly, the team falls apart. It needs guys like Brooney to help survive those moments!

    That's a load of *.

Running around like a headless chicken and just because his second touch is a tackle doesn't mean he has more fight drive ad desire.

IMO Izaguirre, Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley and Mulgrew all have more fight desire and passion than Brown..

He doesn't play well in the wing, hopefully Lennon puts him back in center if he's playing.

He was rotten yesterday. Gets dragged in far too much with his ball watching. Can't pass a ball. No wonder Matthews struggled, he had 2 guys running at him most of the time due to Captain Broon leaving his position trying to close every ball down instead of leaving it to Ledley and Wanyama. I have * all against the guy but he isn't up to the task of playing RM or CM, maybe behind the strikers is his position.

Scott Brown is not a winger ....that's all. And with the likes of Wanyama, Ki, Ledley and the injured Kayal ...he's no first choice in the centre anymore...

Brown plays and we win. Simple as that. The players look up to him and raise their game.
