His passing is always awful, it's the reason why despite his good attributes he should never be a regular or Captain with the volume of quality we have in his position.

i would have forrest, mcgeough, commons, mccourt, cha, my gran and my cat ahead of Scott Brown in the celtic team. i dont rate him at all and i thought he was terrible again today.

I thought he was awful at times today then at other times really good.

Arguably for me mate aye, as you said everyone has very varying view points.

Didn't even think the dig and drive was there at times, he looks lost on the right as he doesn't know whether to tuck in or go wide.

Happy we won at the end of the day though, all that matters but him and the team in general need to step it a gear again.

First touch was great today, took down long range passes nicely and contributed towards the win. He is the type of player that allows us to control the possession in a game.

My only criticism today was his reluctance to run at his man, Broony isn't the fastest but he does have a bit of pace and skill about him so he should attempt to use it, especially when's he on the wing.

well you wouldn't, would you? i know you're exaggerating but come off it. McGeouch an unproven youngster who shouldn't be rushed into the team. Commons is just coming back from injury. McCourt is never a first team regular and Cha won't be here much longer for a reason. your Gran hasn't put on a pair of boots since her arrest from working the streets last week and bits of your cat is on the front of my car.

    Aye, fair enough man.

Yeah I was shocked when someone earlier said his control was poor. Took Mulgrew's diagonals out of the air perfectly every time.:50:

Too many slack passes, a good 4 or 5 went astray.

i was shocked too. thought his control was excellent today. i get people don't like him as a player but when they see what they want to see it's a hard to discuss his display.

his passing was 50-50 today but to question his first touch is crazy.

He has good touch/ball control, strangth, dribbling and pace but he is always let down with his passing and crossing, he occasionally does decent ones and im unsure if its just his lack of concentration when passing rather than a lack of ability, as 1 out of every 3 passes he does he does the daft look 1 way pass the other and never seems to look where hes passing, too casual.

He should also run at players and go past players more as thats his best feature and he only does it about once a game, hes too happy to do the "Barry Squarebaw" routine.

Just thinks he is an unselfish player who uses combinations with the FB well and often passes it when a greedier player can shoot. All the commentators were raving about him today. Frankly its absurd he is being in any way criticised today after an all action performance like that that was drawing praise. The idea we should just play two wingers and win by throwing on all our wide ball players is just naive tactically. Its hard to carry off and some of Mogga and Lennys worst runs have been playing two wingers. Noone other than WGS has pulled off playing two wee wingers in a 4-4-2 successfully at Celtic for decades. Its hard to do against a lot of teams who crowd the MF. Lenny's teams certainly have looked better when Broony is in them. In fact it cost us the league last year IMO reverting to two wingers. Dundee United have a pile of attacking ability on the left. Playing a wee winger when United were piling 3 players down the left would have undone us. I am glad Lenny and managers in general see Broony's massive worth to the team and the way he balances the 4-4-2. I fully expect Lenny to give Broony massive praise in interviews about the match over the next day or two.

I thought he was really good today , minims a few stray passes.

He gives a drive and energy to our team and his pressing is top notch which goes unnoticed by some.

That is no big deal. The majority of our players failed with passes about 3 or 4 times. He probably mispassed a couple more today but he was very very involved in the game all over the pitch, never hiding. He had to take retain the ball under a lot of pressure in his role and did it as well as anyone could. He combined very well with the CM and the RB. In general he passed very well including some really excellent one touch stuff.

    completely agree, Gunt. good read.:50:

we have the best midfield and Brown plays a part in that.

someone on here saying the pass where he thought some one was overlapping and it went out was the worst pass they've ever seen. clearly don't watch football. there's a youtube video of Samaras shooting and it going out for a throw in.

all players make misspasses but Brown is always brought into question regarding this. i'd say Matthews gave the ball away more than Brown did today but he isn't getting pelters.

It would speak volumes if it was true. But in reality, it's false. The opposite, in fact.

In all competitive games this season our record is as follows:

    Scott Brown starts
    W8 D2 L3

    Scott Brown does not start
    W12 D4 L2

In games he has started, we have a 62% win rate.
In games he has not started, we have a 67% win rate.

Still think it speaks volumes? :50:

Personally thought we saw Broony's Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, he was great with the ball at his feet running at opponents. However when he has the ball his distribution at times was nothing short of awful.

Thought at times he chose the wrong option as well, needed to be more direct rather than going backwards or running across the goal.

Although i reckon if stokes had moved his * out of the way broony would have been on the scoresheet today.

I'm with you, I think he had a good game but I just think he could have been more direct at times. Just a minor criticism.
