I honestly can't believe there is folk on here sticking up for Kayal :97:. What he did yesterday was disgraceful, if it was down to me he wouldn't play for the club again. Get rid of him while his stock is high

Scott Brown is essential if we are to have a winning team.

Not sure what would have been different yesterday with Brown in the team, rather than drive us on it could just as easily been one of those games where he gets frustrated and looses focus.

I fail to see how Brown is the vital missing component. If he were a 6 foot 4 centre half rock at the back I would be inclined to agree. But he isn't.

He would give us energy in midfield but it's not something we are lacking.

Scott Brown improves the rest of the team when he is playing generally, he doesn't allow our own players to hide. He sets the bar for the effort that is required in a Celtic strip and the fact is almost every time Scott Brown isn't on the pitch we give a lacklustre performance. It's not a coincidence.

Do you honestly believe we lost 3 goals in the first half yesterday because Brown is injured?

Honestly, yes. I don't think Brown would have let his fellow players get away with that type of performance. He wouldn't have let Kayal put in that level of effort and he would've helped win the midfield battles.

He also tracks runners, which the Killie midfield were killing us with. Hypothetical I know but I honestly believe with Scott Brown on the pitch that performance doesn't happen.

He is an excellent wee player, but he needs to be more precise with his passing, he needs to retain the aggresiveness, but control his discipline. He is no good to us sitting in the stand, we need him on that park, fighting and snarling, for us. Broony like I say, is an excellent wee player, no really fancy skills, or that, but every bit as effective as the likes of Neil Lennon, or Roy Aitken had, ....... they were all class at what they done, without spectacular skills. :50:

I've seen Brown give 1 player a kick up the * and he has been captain for well over a season.

Mulgrew has been captain for all of 5 minutes and he has lambasted Maj numerous times and at the weekend he stuck a rocket up Stokes' * as well.

I don't think Brown is the influence you think he is. He has played a lot better on the right wing and even went through a patch of creating a couple of goals which is very unlike him but ultimately he is extremely limited as a footballer. The basics such as short passing are lacking with him, big time.

We'll agree to disagree Hammer mate, I think Scott Brown's influence on our team is obvious when you look at the performances when he isn't on the pitch.

There is no doubt we get much more points with Broony than without. i think the reason is simple. The guy has almost unique levels of energy and he can cover two positions in the MF because of it. We often play against 5 combatative MFs in the SPL. When we play two wingers it is very hard to not end up outnumbered. Broony is like 2 players and evens it up a bit. He sort of plays both wide and as a CM all at once.

Another thing is Broony had a really decent assists rate last season as well as a few goals. Compare his assists per game with Ledleys last season (he also played a mix of wide a CM) and Broony did far better. I think he did better in assists than Ki, Kayal etc too.

    I would love to see

    McFadden-Ki-Wanyama-Broony

I love the sound of that mix of fight and flair

Ledley just bores me. If the unit doesnt work without him then fair enough he has to play but if we can play well minus him then I would drop him because whatever he does is not obvious. I know others feel the same way about Broony but its all opinions.

I see him doing a similar role to Commons last season.

Starting out wide, but having license to come in and link with the front men.

Out of interest, anyone know what game Brown is likely to be back for?

I rate ledley as our best midfielder, think he is quality tbh, and one of the only players just now who looks like he can give a *. Unlike most folk on here I also rate Brown highly and it is no coinsidence that we are on a bad run of form when he is out injured. The same happened last season aswell. I would love to see Broony and ledley get a run of games together in the middle

He makes a huge difference and it's there for all to see just how much he's missed!

When he's out, we hit poor form. When he plays we perform better!

Can't wait for him to come back!!!
