What? To be a joint sponsorship Celtic and Sevco would have to enter the deal together as a whole and split the sponsorship evenly. Are you trying to say that Arsenal, PSG, AC Milan and Hamburg all have a joint sponsorship with Emirates airlines? The same company can sponsor two or more different clubs with two or more completely separate deals.

[IMG]He also says that they've not received any offers for any of their players.

One interesting "aside" in that is that none of the teams to which you refer play in the same nation which more than dilutes the initial point.

"Joint" as in sponsored by the same overall company - C&C. I don't think there is anything overly complex in that rationale / logic. Bearing in mind it would be a literal case of fact, that's that really. And, as an aside, it is purely theoretical anyway!

All I am saying is that Magners / Tennents would not be the clean break I was looking for - as such, I hope it is not what transpires and it looks like it won't......and that, as they said, was that.

Yes! Finally Celtic have listened to me! Been saying for ages the club should be tapping into their Irish roots and market much more, there's millions of expats, nth generation immigrants, and plastic paddys in America, Canada, Australia and elsewhere just waiting to be sucked dry of their cash!
Magners or Guinness were my prefferred choices so i'm happy with this.

Wonder when the zombie boycott of Magners begins?

Think I'm heading to the pub later tonight, I usually never drink cider but I might just have a cheeky Magners tonight :smiley-laughing002:

Just remembered The Kinks were used in a Magners advert. First line is even funnier now.

[IMG]Lawwell says the Magners deal was signed before the AGM where fans called for end to Rangers joint sponsorship agreements.

This is strange, as if that's the case then his direct quotes concerning an inevitable loss of funds in the instance of a sponsorship split don't add up.....

PL: Previous shared sponsors was down to circumstances but we have our own brand, story and traditions.

An End to any shared sponsorship and a little more dough probably around the £2mil a year mark.

    I'm not picky.
The main issue for me in this is the end of the joint sponsorship with the Zombie FC :50:

Is this support in Ireland not dwindling ? I don't think this will have any more of an effect than any other brand.

Not quite sure what your point is, but more money for the club means a surer financial footing in some tough times. No?

    It doesn't dilute anything

A joint sponsorship is an agreement between 3 parties which depends on the two clubs involvement, if you negotiate you own deal then it's not a joint sponsorship. There's nothing overly complex in that rationale / logic that you've used, it's just quite simply wrong :56:

Personally I could care less if we have the same brand on our shirts let alone sponsored by the same company, just so long as we don't enter the deal with them a part of it because 1. I don't like us being associated with them in any way and 2. any such deal is far more benefiting to them than it is to Celtic, in fact I think we would be selling ourselves short.
