There you go, that's again debatable, not a fact. :icon_mrgreen:

Anyway at the end of the day I want Celtic to win the league once again this league, with or without Brown, Samaras, Hooper, Stokes.. I don't care as long as we win.

you seem to be suggesting that celtic are a better team with scott brown in it, beacuse you believe the stats say that the team have had a better winning streak. yet you don't think the fact he's won only a scottish cup as captain is relevant? i don't think stats are important, but merely asked the question why did you think the stat about winning trophys proves nothing? i made the point about mcstay to highlight that stats, in my opinion, prove nothing- not how many games a team wins or how many trophys.

why are people always obsessing about Scott Brown? There is a lot more than him that have had a form dip in recent games.

because he's the captain of a team not cutting it at the moment. and his own performances are unacceptable to many fans, not only to be guranteed a first team place but to be captain as well.

where did i say its irrelevant?

are you suggesting its his fault we haven't won much, rather than the fact that our squad is littered with clowns?

the stats RE brown show we win more games with him in the team, they prove that. its a fairly simple point. mcstay played in a team with even less quality than we have now against a huns side with half the england team in it. us winning more games with brown in the side isn't coparable to us not winning many trophies with the maestro as captain.

tbh, i prefer wide players to contribute in attack, Brown hardly contributes at all on the right side going forward and we have 3 better CM's, on Footballing Ability, he shouldnt get near our team

    do you actually watch celtic?

for 2 years we struggled badly playing 2 wingers so we started playing brown wide right to shore up the MF and it worked better than playing 2 wingers. we played some superb football after xmas last season, brown included, plus some of his link up play with wislon down the right was excellent. neither of them are as good going forward as izzy and commons but it gives us far more protection defensively.

as for brown being our 4th best CM, wise up.

iam trying to understand why you seem to believe that celtic are a better a team with scott brown in it because of certain stats, yet other stats highlight he has won nothing of any real significance, or in done anything of note in europe as captain.

my whole point is summed up by the paul mcstay example. stats in terms of how many games celtic won during his time as captain, as well as the stat that he did not win alot as captain proves nothing in terms of what type of player he was.

however, you are juging players on stats. it would seem that you take into account how many games scott brown has won, but fail to take into account how many medals- why?

struggling? we win more games with him in the team, what are you struggling with?

how many celtic captains have done anything of note in europe?

a scottish cup is insignificant? you know he's only been captain for a year and a half?

i'm not judging him on stats, i'm judging him on watching him play, just ponting out that we win more games when he plays rather than when he doesn't.

stats dont prove how good a player is, but they can show the difference a player can make to a side.:50:

i agree. you are pointing out that celtic win more games than they lose, and i'am suggesting you should therefore also take into consideration he's lost more leagues and domestic trophys then he's won.

if your happy that scott brown is a first choice player, never mind captain, then that's up to you. i've got to disagree.

stats also suggested that daniel majstorovic is one of the best defenders that celtic and scottish football has ever had, as he was part of a defence which kept the most clean sheets, if iam right in saying.

and you should take into consideration that we win more games when he plays. who do you think played a bigger role in us not winning trophies under mowbray, brown or the chin?

bullshit about majstorivic btw, we've conceded less goals than last season many times, as have the huns. a ridiculous comment.

am i happy scott browns first choice and captain? am i *, we all want a mcstay, or aitken or mcneill, i'd even kill for a peter grant in our team atm, but this is our level these days. the sooner people accept that and stop dreaming otherwise the better.

    edit

you also ignored my other points i previously made, nice side stepping.

as i've said i don't think stats play a role in judging a player.

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/245948-celtic-keen-on-clean-sheet-record/ :39: (sidestepping?)

well that's where we are ultimately different. i will never accept mediocrity at celtic, especially never from our captain. i think we should always be improving, and perhaps it is 'dreaming' for better, but in my opinion scott brown is not good enough to be in the team never mind captain.

you must be a permanently unhappy bhoy then because we've been mediocre at best for the majority of my 23 years of going to games!

i asked you how many celtic captains have done anything in europe?

or that scottish cups are irrelevant.

brown was MOTM against der hun in the 2-0 cup final, scored a goal that beat dinamo in europe, won a penalty against spartak, cleared a certain goal off the line against spartak.......

    yes side stepping.

not unhappy, just striving for improvements every year, to avoid (as the title of the thread says) stagnation. obviously some celtic fans are content with the position we are in at the minute.

i think you'll struggle to find many captains (maybe some), with a worse record in europe than scott brown (but again, stats mean very little to me, so this point is irrelevant as far as i'm concerned).

in the grand scheme of things, do you think winning a scottish cup with the state rangers are in is someting of much importance/?

if that's the highlights of the celtic captain, who is on 20,000 odd pounds a week, and a 4 million pound transfer fee, then * help us.

what do you make of the link i posted?

Thought Brown was great today for Scotland. His passing looked a lot better than usual.

I'm glad he played well but it leaves me a bit baffled.

well he played in the centre where he prefers but not only that he played in a compact 5

we dont play that way at celtic and thats when he gets found wanting, when we play 442 and he plays in the centre
