The thing is though, he isn't going for 1 million pounds, it's less than half of that.

Considering how much money we made last year, surely we can pay that for an up an coming attacking midfielder (two birds with one stone) that is wanted by a few EPL clubs.

 

We can't just throw away money, it's not just 400k, the guy is going to be on a contract so add about another million/year to that. If Lenny/Lawwell thought this guy was good enough without a trial then they would sign him up..Celtic can't afford to buy every player we are somewhat interested in.

We won't be playing him anywhere close to £1m a year. I do agree though a trial is the right way to go, especially when signing a relatively unknown prospect

 

Lennon has already said that he thinks Rogic is worth the money, but still wants to evaluate him further. That's the bit I don't understand. If you have looked at him and think he is worth the money, offer him a deal before someone else comes in and steals him.

 

Exactly. He thinks he is worth the money but wants to see him another week. * pointless and only asking for another team to sign him.

The only problem I have with the whole trial process is that it could turn off a player, I understand we want to be sure on a player but we have scouts and coaches for that, they should go to Australia and watch the player, Wanyama didn't need to come on trial becaue we spent some time watching him, I just hope this kid is still willing to come here.

 

They are assessing his attitude in training and when he's away from the club i think. Having ability is one thing, having the dedication to be a top pro is another. Plenty of players with ability that squandered their talent once they got a big move.

 

I think lenny probably knows the lad is desparate to sign and trusts we will have first refusal.

 

As he been cleared to play in the friendly on tuesday?

 

I don't think so. Been nothing in the news here about it.

Lenny hopes to have him cleared to play but it's down to arranging insurance etc.
