    One of the most encouraging things about this signing is that reading generally tend to build squads the right way, with younger or more obscure talent such as kevin doyle was when signed from ireland, so if they are interested in somebody fairly young and fairly unknown it increases the optimism i have about the guy.

    Exactly. Celtic dawdle too often when it comes to signing players and it often means we miss out on them. Same thing happened in the summer with Diawara, who wasn't costing us much money at all. He ended up signing with Sevilla or something for around £2m.

    Fair enough if true, but I just wish we would go for it sometimes and see if it pays off, without running the risk of losing out on a good, young player to some * EPL side.

    Our prudence in the market is certainly frustrating on the face of it but in the end it normally proves to be the correct way to conduct our business.

    It has to be said though we project an image of tight * to world football and have done for tens of years, going back to asking Rivaldo to come on trial and beyond :52:

    It annoys me how much we ask players to come on trial when we are signing them for peanuts virtually, I know we run a tight ship financially but 400k isn't alot to us
