I dont need stats to recall that Strachan, Mogga, Lenny and Levein overwhelmingly have played him, even when unfit.

Yep - when Brown got made captain, I just said Aw no, not the same mistake again.

Main difference is, while I didn't feel big Mick was good enough to start at CB for Celtic, I did feel he was a good captain. Broon is neither.

I am just hoping (more than expecting) that we're currently in a Petrov scenario - i.e. re-sign him on a new contract, then punt him to another league...

That statement doesn't automatically merit any praise for Brown, it could simply highlight a managerial flaw of those who select him.

ledley is a better passer of the ball than brown look at his passes to sammy in the rangers games ...brown does,nt offer as much range ..i believe he has heart , but that does,nt always make up for skill....there,s more than a few games where i think browns gave up the ghost and went for a stupid tackle knowing fine well , he could be walking....the only thing is ...who is a captain if brown is,nt ...worrying really when you put it like that.....

Who's being negative about the team and manager?

I think we have a very good team, and a very promising manager.

None of this alters the topic under discussion, which is that Scott Brown can't play football.

We need to dingie this utter clown sharpish. :50:

    The stagnation of Scott Brown.

Scott Brown has been here for 4 years now.

In that spell we've managed one SPL trophy. His injury coincided with the partnership of Hartley and Robson in the 7 or 8 game winning streak which in my opinion (and many others) drove us onto the title in 2008.

He's been at the forefront of the failings of Celtic since 2008. Consistently picked and yet not performing well enough to merit a place.

He's handed the captains armband yet obviously lacks any leadership skills.

    Technicailly very poor.

Lacks vision to see a pass.

Has a first touch Big Mark Yardley would be proud of.

    Strays constantly out of position.

His supposed tenacity and aggression amounts to petty fights during games and un-neccesary bookings.

Doesn't score nearly enough for a supposed forward thinking midfielder. 11 in 122 games is * poor. It's the SPL FFS, Wideman Commons surpassed this in 4 month.

He's not nearly given enough in his time yet he's been made captain, giving a game every week and now he's rewarded with a new contract.*?:47:

    Why are Celtic rewarding failure?

This guy is apparently one of the highest earners on around 20k+ a week basic wage yet we're giving him that (or probably more) for a few years longer when money is tight and could be going elsewhere.

What's he done in his time at Celtic to deserve this? Noise up Diouf?

Scott Brown is synonymous with the failings of Celtic on a domestic and European front over the last 3 years.

Failings on the playing side, the financial and Managerial side and boardroom level.

Accepting 2nd best and rewarding failure.

    We deserve better.

    Rant over.

I laugh at people who defend Scott Brown. Like the poster above me actually...

The guy sums up the whole ethos of Scottish football at the moment and why our League, national team, club teams are * poor.

4million rated player. Scottish football has to change.

The only people who rate him at that price are a little flame haired guy that got exposed in England after he left us and the board who obviously thought he was right.

i think it was because of the pace of the game up here, it was nullifying him i thought and the same with hartley him more so

he's playing well down in the championship but then it's not 100mph kick and rush down there

brown on the other hand we should just let his contract run out he's been a complete failure

    Yes it is.

If hes playing well in the Championship (a much higher level than the SPL) then that indicates to me he was let go a bit early and still had something to offer.

I wouldnt sign him now though but we're overloaded in Midfield.
