You said that using his sister's death was an excuse to a previous poster.......well let me tell you....that is one excuse I would not hold against him.

Well you seem pretty keen to whip out the statistic and give him credit for every single game we win just because he happened to have been on the park that day, but when we lose and he plays you can make excsuses and say it's not his fault?

If his influence is so essential, it has to go both ways surely?

But the statistic itself is bogus, as myself and others have pointed out in every Broony thread for the past six months, there have been plenty of games where Brown has played * and we've still won, * there are games where every player on the park is * and we still win because one player shows one moment of quality.

But you'd still credit Brown as the driving force behind all those wins, just because he was there, right?

For every game Brown has been the clear MOTM, games he's single handedly taken by the scruff of the neck, there's another where he's had me shaking my head by misplacing the simplest of passes, getting caught out with poor positional play and crossing that line between hassling players and wrecklessly battering into them.

For the record although over 4 seasons I've been disappointed with Brown, I think he's had a very good season this year, I just don't think he's quite as deserving of this level of blind praise, as if our team begins and ends with him.

I do not think he's useless, I am not saying he doesn't contribute to the team or give 100%, but I still think we can do better for a captain, and certainly a better player for the kind of money we paid, though admitedly his pricetag wasn't up to him and nobody forced us to pay it so that's more an issue with the club than the player.

 

FFS, I thought this was a thread about Broony being out in a nightclub, having a laugh like a normal guy does and being a top bloke by proving he doesn't have a manky tattoo... NOT another thread for haters to have a go and give him stick!!!

Do you all forget, Scott Brown is the Captain of Celtic Football Club FFS.

The team we all love and the team we all support.

Yes ok, we all have our opinion of players and whether they are good enough or not but FFS can we please have one thread about Broony, which on this occasion has got nothing to do with football, without all the crap!!!

well he never played very well at inverness or v ross county or basically any vital game we've had in the past 2 years where a captain-type would stand up and be counted,he can gtf as far as im concerned,total charlatan robbing celtic fans blind

i just quoted his paragraph and said "excuses" and there was more than his sisters illness and death used by devlin1888 as an excuse the other was that devlin1888 insinuated that brown was injured through large parts strachans last year and mowbray's only season.

and for the record i'm not a hater

i just dont think we've used him to the best of his potential

he is at his best when running at defences with the ball

i have for the last couple of years been advocating playing him wide right and yes he can do a job there

i wondered if he could play the role petrov played for us at times as an attacking midfielder but his poor passing has forced us to push him wide, in particular his poor forward passing

 

He had a great season and we missed him the season before. Glad a lot of fans have changed their opinion of the player also. Long may it continue.

His record of wins for the team has been outstanding.

i think you will find brown under lennon this season has played very very well.

browns got a great engine on him , and a very passionate player. Thats why hes captain. Lennon obviously recognises this , and appreciates what he brings to the team . Hes had a good season .

But hes always gona have his haters , as he always does on here from a section.

 

Brown doesn't deserve 90% of the stick he gets. When was the last time he made a meaningful mistake?

He may not be the best passer of the ball but neither is Kayal.
