I think of Brown as a box to box player but it's only occasional glimpses in games he can play it to perfection.. I like him for doing the dirty work which often prevents teams coming through the middle of the pitch.. Ki does a lot of shielding players with no intent to actually challenge for that ball.. Brown makes the challenge , often as early as he can , not always timing it right but none of this shadowing someone with no intent to take the ball off him..

I think Brown has shown at times he can do all the jobs required of a midfielder , both defensively and attacking but getting the best out of him is something (as yet) no manager at Celtic has managed.. I don't think many players can last more than 4 years at a club if the final 3 seasons are failure and the next 6 months will decide his future..

Ledley scored from Left Back against St Mirren if I remember right. The two are very different and would compliment each other playing in a midfield of 3. I think Ledley's game is getting in behind defences like the goal at St Johnstone which you pointed out. He can't do this without leaving gaps as we've normally got 4 forwards on the park with him.

Brown on the other hand, you'll see covering for our attacking players. His goal against Hibs was a cracker and he's also got that part to his game which you will not see with the current shape of the team.

Aye here we go, a defeat and suddenly captain clown is our saviour again.

Empty jersey and possibly the biggest imposter to pull on the hoops I've ever seen.

    I support the two strikers

what i dont support is the wingers we play, Maloney is fine but we need to get some balance on the other side, Mcginn was fine and i don't have a clue why he changed it

I don't think I'll ever come to the opinion that Celtic miss Scott Brown.

    Complete waste of a jersey.

How many SPL games did we win with him in the team again?

    No..he's not!

A DM can sit in front of his defence, collect a ball then send it onto another of his players either short or long.

    Brown can do neither!

Ki, Crosas, Kayal are more DM's than Brown.

His passing isn't as bad as people make out. There's more to winning a football match than Hollywood passes also like having no fear of putting in tackles and challenging for headers.

I bet if you asked Wattie which one of our midfielders he wish suspended or injured for the next OF game he's say Brown.

His passing generally is shocking...nevermind any Hollywood passes...it's the next door neighbour passes!

    I bet he wouldn't.

Mate, I'm not even entering the debate, we'll just go round in circles, you can bring out as many stats, flip-charts and crayons as you like, he's * and no one but him can change my mind, which I doubt he ever will.

I totally agree, Brown does the dirty side of game, and leads players on with his energy and desire, i agree his passing and shooting need to be improved but he is still young, and will mature in time and probably change his role, but for this time being his energy and desire are important for us.

he is kind of a Gattuso, Cambiasso kind of player, before people start jumping on me comparing him to them, i'm just stating his style is similar i'm no saying hes as good as them

    Still young? He's 25 nearly 26!

I've no doubt he has been working on his passing etc since he was a kid at Hibs...he still hasn't got the jist of it and probably never will.

Gattuso, Cambiasso are DM's....Brown is NOT a DM!

Yeah I'm getting a little tired of people saying he's young, still developing, will improve, he's been here for years and not shown any sign of it so far.

If Brown had played last night it would have been him getting sent off instead of Ledley for me.

There's a big difference though. People would be blaming Brown for the defeat:redcard:
