A better game from Brown tonight and now he knows that there are other players there with a lot more talent than him ,that he needs to up his game big-time.

Sorry but if in the future we lose a game that should have been won, and Brown is playing I bet he will be the culprit or one of them.
Scott Brown from now till doomsday will NEVER be a fitba player!

I think his style is much better suited playing in a midfield 3, especially with Kayal and Juarez who'll control the game, close down players and not leave all the dirty work to Brown. He was given less to do and so managed to do it well, rather than running around like a headless chicken kicking everyone.

Did he not play in a 4-3-3 at hibs?

Well i'd imagine he would be in your eyes regardless of his performance. You don't half dislike the guy. Were you not on the match thread saying he was gash the night?

But he's the least technically gifted of the 3 we had in the middle tonight, and people always go on about his energy/drive/dig or whatever, if anything dirty work is right up his alley, he's certainly not the type to pick a pass like the one kayal played through for the goal.

There is no doubt there is a seriously useful dynamic power player in Broony. For one reason and another he doesnt show it enough but if you look at our pre-season and early season games he has been good (one of our best performances) in several. I think he suffers from often having to play an unatural role of the anchor/sitter because we have not had someone beside him doing that role well since Hartley. A CM three with Broony one of a pair of box to box players in front of a sitter/continuity CM is even better. That is exactly the formation that made him a sought after player at Hibs. I see no problem that we have Broony, Juarez, the israeli, Ledley, Ki etc because, especially if we play a CM 3, we will need at least 5 CMs to get through the usual injury and suspension problems.

One thing is for sure, if Juarez, Ledley and Kayal do turn out to be good players for us then that means Broony's place in the team is no longer cemented. That fact alone might inspire him to produce the goods again like he has in the past.

aye he played wel but its been well overdue 3 seasons overdue in my eyes maybe having real midfielders beside him has given him the kick up the * he so long needed as we all say 1 game at a time

He played ok, better than usual but he was outshone by the rest of the midfielders. Shouldn't be captain - places too much burden on him when he still hasn't ever consistently performed for us

Exactly. It's actually incredible the number of people who just completely overlook the fact that Broony won the Players' POTY award while playing for Celtic.

love Brooney :icon_mrgreen: For a long time he was the only piece of steel in a bunch of gutless wonders. I know sometimes he gets a bit rash but I do love his arrogance and his bottle.

People simply are no fair about him. He has a good first half season then a POTY season. His bad times were the 2nd half of his first season when he was bereived and last season when he was barely ever 100% match fit. Broony is a player I watch closely and 90% of the time he is good if he is properly match fit. Why people chose to blame him for periods when he isnt fit I do not know. In this pre-season and early season he has been good in all but one or two.

they ignore that and ignore the fact he had a career threatening injury that he wasnt fully march fit from until the last 5 or 6 weeks of the season. That is willfully ignoring huge mitigating factors. There are lots for whom his face just will never fit because he has a thuggy skinhead vibe which many tims like the think is a hun thing. Think he would be brilliant in a skinhead film with the bover boots, braces, Fred Perry and short turned up jeans lol
