I don't ignore what he does....I know he shouldn't give away stupid free kicks and that he should try to control his temper but, if he saves us from being embarrassed even further then I don't mind the tackle that gets him a yellow. I'm not a Brown fan but last night he was probably our 2nd best performer with the 1st being Cha. Did you have the same opinion on Lennon when he was playing in that position and was also captain?

Brown was better than Ledley last night. No criticism of him i note.

The only criticism i have of Ledley is that he is not fast enough to play wide on the left..more of a central midfielder to put his foot on the ball and spray it out wide for the runners.

As i say with Brown it was one of his better games last night. Made some lung-bursting runs. Passing was decent. My gripe with him is that he is a disciplinary nightmare. His first yellow was undeserved(granted of a dive),but even with this in mind he still took it upon himself to take a swipe at the Braga player out wide. Lucky not to be sent off, aswell as constantly mouthing off at the ref.

I agree with the mouthing off and over zealous challenges. Ledley looks too laid back imo. He will need to shape up asap or he will be our new left back rather than midfielder.

Ledley needs time to settle and adjust IMO...especially coming from a club where he has been at since he was a kid.

I've been a massive critic of Brown of late but yesterday was him approaching his better side. Seemed to start all the moves off and got forward right enough, suitable amount of hustle in the midfield and it was nice to see him booting the cheat with the headband.

Can't help but feel Ki would've been a better option in the centre though. He's got that passing ability to unlock a defence.

He showed great energy last night and some good attacking football. I would rather see him out at RM and Juarez and Ledley in the middle. He would put in a better shift at LB than Mulgrew aswell no doubt. If an offer of 3m+ came in i wouldn't hesitate to take it.

Maybe it's rose tinted specs, but even with his temper I don't think Lenny lost his composure quite as much as Brown does, and he was a much more intelligent player.

Ledley seems like a John Collins sort of player and if he is as good as he was I will be delighted

Yeah maybe not quite the glorious technique though :50:

Furthermore, and I hate to pile the pressure on MUlgrew but I think Ledley has suffered having such a gaping hole in our team behind him.

Lets face it, the whole team is having to cover for Mulgrew, this shouldn't be the case in the spl though.

I was about to post that. Lenny constantly snarled and mouth and also nailed the odd player. Broony is no worse. Funny enough in terms of the captaincy I felt the same regarding Lenny as many do about Broony now - too much of a hothead to represent the club as captain. Nevertheless they are/were both good players.

More intelligent player yes but....I think he lost his composure just as much or more than what brown does. I don't agree with Brown kicking people but agree with the hard tackles and roughing up the other player. You need someone in your midfield of other players are going to fear, brown is that person imo.

I just think that Brown Unbalances the team. I think we would be a stronger team if he was dropped and we played Ledley and Juarez in CM.

Also from sopme of the comments and that recently I am actually beginning to think that Craig Bellamy might actually be coming to the club.:50:

To be fair Lenny and Lwell(in dundee) did say this was NOT going to happen due to 'astronomical wages', but now i think there may just be something in this:97:

Well personally I don't think anyone fears Brown anymore, I think he's been pegged as the one they know they've got the best chance of winding up and forcing a mistake out of.
