I thought he was maybe a 6.5 out of 10 tonight, probably among our best 5 players. I think in the 1st half v Arsenal you saw what happens if you take Broony out of our MF - nobody (i.e Crosas, Ki etc) closes down runners and a huge hole/sieve appears between our attackers and defenders. Until the israeli guy is settled in, Broony is the only player on our books who will bust a gut and do the dirty job of closing down space between our CM and defenders. Its not a very glamourous job and I think a lot of people do not appreciate the role.

I already said I thought he started well.

but obviously you shut your eyes at certain parts, did you not see him having a kick at someone when he was already on a yellow, he could have easily been sent off and if you pretend he didn't lose the head you're kidding yourself.

:54:I would rather get a few quid for him to take in somebody who will perform 99% of the time ..not just when they feel like it

You're right in that respect - he does seem to be decent playing on the break. I think his mind is sharp enough to spot a pass but his technique lets him down rather often.

Another point - how many teams in the SPL afford us the space to play on the break? Most teams just park the bus.

I don't mind keeping Brown around, but he wouldn't ever be in my first choice 11.

he got a stupid yellow as usual ! he then was lucky not to get a red ! he gave the ball away countless times. yes he ran about like a headless chicken but overall he was absolute pish ! hes never a centre mid in his life. take the 1st offer that comes our way and pass this problem onto someone else! absolute rank rotten tonight. only mulgrew played worse. lets be honest if you ever play worse than mulgrew you should never wear a football jersey again

a certain Gravesen was slaughtered after only 10 games while being 5 times the player Brown is, yet that one gets away with almost 4 years of abysmal and average football. the difference, one is scottish, the other is foreign.

Brown does possess the skill or craft to operate in the centre of midfield, he's too easily noised up by the opponents, so move him out wide to the right wing or don't play him at all.

We've bought the Israeli midfielder and Juraz, I reckon Lennon sees them as his first choice centre midfielders, so Brown must move to the right or leave.

My concern remains with our dosy defenders, we need a commanding centre back and a left back, Mulgrew has shown to be the weak link already. What about our goalkeeper, he's not exactly endeared himself to the support so far, does he have the bootle to play for Celtic ???

Cant believe anyone can possibly defend scott brown, the guys is not up to it, he stands out in a lesser team but to me he is just a thug and will be a mattter of time before he breaks someones leg or seriously injures someone

Him and maloney should warm the bench they have done NOTHING to merit a place. as far as I can see

Cant believe that people still giving him grief when we was one of our best players last night, just proves that people will not change their views

this. brown was one of our better players last night, one of the only ones to show any fight and passion for the team.

Think that was one of Browns 'better' performances last night, however he was certainly not 'fantastic'. Again last night he should have been sent off for kicking the guy out wide. Not the temperament required for a Celtic captain.

Was Ledley even playing? He was nowhere near as good as Brown, Brown made a 30 yard busting run from mid beating 3 of the Braga players, he showed passion and determination he also did a good job covering Mulgrew's * ups, even Lenny commented on his excellent game, what people do, is ignore this performance wait for him to have a poor game and come on here having a right go.

was it not hooiveld who was covering mulgrew? take it you never seen that, ledley was goodfirst half passingf the ball making runs running the midfield then had to play lb, again i take it you never seen that aswell

did you also seen brown jumping into tackles screaming at the ref and his linesman aswell what kind of captain leads like that he looked like a wee ned, and again had to be taken off before he got sent off, yeah he ran about at times like a headless chicken, lennon would say he had an excellent game wouldent he, because he is his captain, he is not leader far from it

I don't see the point in having passion and fight for the team if you can't do anyting with the ball that will better the team. Passion and dig does not win you matches if you can't find your man with a pass.
I try stick up for Brown as I think when he first came here I seen glimpses of skill and a good raw talent. Aye he has had his problems both personal and injuries, but you would think by now he would do more than run about chasing lost causes and having a go at players.
Sorry Brown, if I were manager you would one of the first out the door unless you can somehow poreve in the next 3 weeks you deserve your place in the team.

I'm kidding myself? He was one of the better players last night, and who cares about the fouls? If it wasn't for him we could have been down al least by another 2 goals so I think last night he made up fr his 'yellow' card.

Nah mate you obviously know more than me and Neil Lennon, he was made captain in a raffle right?

I watched every minute on a online stream, Brown had to cover Mulgrew's * up quite alot last night, as did Hooiveld. Ledley had a very quiet game, the fact you thought Ledley had a good game makes me wonder if you actually watched the game? I like Ledley but he was very quiet last night.
Would you rather Brown showed no passion at all for Celtic FC, I dont want to see bottlers at CP I want to see everyone giving 100% and Brown certainly gave that last night.

He didn't asked to be captain, Mowbray and Lenny have both made him captain so they must rate him!

Another headless chicken theory that doesn't make sense when him, Hooper and Juarez were our better performers.

Mate your wasting your breath, Brown is already on the hit list, his days are numbered even if he puts in a Messi performance.

who cares that he constantly fouls? I care, anyone that wants a footballer in our midfield and not a lumberjack cares. He didn't conduct himself like a captain and was lucky the ref didn't take action when he kicked out like a petulant wee boy, he lost control and he does it far too often, he has no composure.

But yes I'm sure he was one of our best performers, if you can just say WHO CARES when he does something wrong and actively choose to ignore the negatives of his performance.
