I thought he was murder tonight. His passings an absolute joke and his constant moaning and kicking of other players is just plain stupid. The guy is one of the thickest players i have seen. What did he actually contribute to the team tonight other than a few fouls and even more misplaced passes?

I don't think he's good enough full stop but i don't really see why playing him on the wing would be beneficial - he can't cross and has little skill.

    Exactly.

People are getting to the point of wanting to shoe-horn Brown into positions when we already have natural players there, he's not a winger and he doesn't have the composure for a centre mid, shouldn't command a starting slot, he's backup at best.

Infact the best I've seen him in a celtic shirt is when Mowbray brought him on as a late sub against dynamo moscow (was that the game?) when his reckless energy was actually effective against a tired defence.

yeah agreed mate - it seems almost like 'it isnt working in central mid lets keep trying other positions' - simply he isn't good enough for Celtic, yet, astonishingly, he is our captain. Even more astonisihing are the number of people with blinkers on when it comes to him - people even says he needs time to prove himself - he's been here 3 years and done * all. Dinamo is one of the only times he put in a shift

As i said i thought he put in a real shift tonight and had a decent game. I would still sell him tho and bring in someone like Sidwell from villa or just use the cash for a very good center half or left back

Speaking of brown anyone know what this is about it was posted on CU

Brown told the assembled hacks in the mixed zone that they could have 2 mins because he was "looking for someone." It would seem that... ... he isn't happy with something Gordon Waddell wrote and wanted to have words with him. However, he showed the same vision off the park... ...as he shows on it and completely missed the massively tall Waddell in the room.

I can't quite get my head around people suggesting Brown should be played wide right. His dribbling and close control is awful. His passes consistently go astray. His crossing is average at best. His composure is terrible.

He has great drive and aggression. He is determined and reasonably speedy. Other than that, I can't see that there is much else to his game. Simply not good enough.

I had high hopes for Brown but it seems to me that Juarez is the player we've all hoped Brown would turn out to be.

    Lenny post-match tonight:

'There were a lot of positives tonight. Cha played well, as did Marc-Antoine Fortune and Juarez. Hooper got his goal on a difficult night and Joe Ledley was excellent. Scott Brown was fantastic. I thought he was immense from start to finish and played a real captain's role.'

Why is it everyone in the game rates Broony so high but so many of our fans hate him. Every manager who has had him sees what he brings as so crucial he is always picked, fit or not.

he is pretty good and twisting a turning his way through at speed in attack, not exactly dribbling but more swerving the body and spinning quickly. He is great on the break when space opens up but he is not the sort of player who can walk through a wall of defenders. He needs space and momentum.

Brown wasn't the worst tonight but he wasn't "fantastic". Not even close.

I thought Brown had a good game. Showed more energy and a will to track back than anyone else and played the DM role relatively well. Good game Brown :50:

It's worrying if Lenny thinks that was Brown playing a good captains role, especially since he himself did it for years, I'm all for a bit of aggression but it has to be controlled, Brown was lucky not to get himself sent off he was so ill-disciplined at times.

Brown was brilliant tonight, top class. burst a gut.
how some people manage to not see that from tonights game is amazing. Infact, I'm sure these people either A- watch the game and only care about slagging their hated players or B- don't watch the game at all. and just have pre-set judgements they spout at the end of the game

He did play captains role pretty well. When we lost possession guess who was tracking back ahead of some of our 'defenders'? Guess who was getting in the refs face at some dodgy decisions? Guess who was doing all the dirty work (apart from juarez who was immense)?. I'm not a fan of brown but tonight the guy deserve some praise, from what I seen he gave 110%, much more than anyone else.

Your obviously one of the ones of didn't watch the game. If you did, then you would have seen that Brown saved us further embarrassment.:50:
