Yes, because the expectations at Motherwell and Inverness are not very high at all. Top six finish if possible, avoid relegation.

At Celtic, you are expected to win the league and at least one of the cups, whilst having a respectable run in European competition. We are well on course to doing all three this season.

I didn't ask if you thought Lennon could attain what Motherwell should expect, I asked if you thought he could do what McCall has. He secured third place last season, ahead of much bigger clubs such as Aberdeen, Hibernian, Hearts & Dundee United, all with a fraction of their wage bill and budget.

    Of course he could.

Lennon has more than proven that he can cut it as a manager. Also, the gulf in spending between clubs like Motherwell, Dundee United and Aberdeen can't be that much.

I was there, in the juve side of the fence.

What you mentioned is absolutely correct, a number of celtic supporters came and gave us their scarves and congratulated us. We responded with a very long applause and chants for celtic.
We were not allowed to leave the stadium until all the other stands had been fully evacuated, so we ended up chanting for celtic in a completely empty stadium.

One of the strangest thing I've ever seen in a football stadium.

    I'm pleased to hear this.

One thing I didn't like was the Juve fans attempting to drown out YNWA at the start (European fans are usually very respectful during our club's anthem) but I looked at YouTube footage afterwards and realized it was only a few of them at it, whilst the majority were silent and were even recording on their phones/cameras :50:

So Juve got beat by Roma 1-0, sealed with an absolute heat seeker from Totti. A great game, with some very strange refereeing decisions.

Roma couldn't link up play first half, but second half, after they scored, Juve were all over the place. They left themselves open at the back and Roma had a right few chances.

Lichtensteiner, at one point ran out, like the keeper would to save at a players feet, and saved the shot with his hand, hahaha.... play on says the referee.

Juve cross the ball into the Roma box, the keeper tries to almost catch the ball and throw it out in the same movement, fluffs it and falls over, with no player near him.
Free-kick for a foul on the keeper.

Weren't many corner kicks, but Roma were at it with the holding. Somehow the players defend corners with their backs to the corner flag, looking in the opposite direction fouling everyone.

I can't remember, probably a late challenge. There were quite a few meaty challenges going in. Pirlo took a bad one to the knee, but played on. Think it affected his game in the second half and i was a bit surprised they didn't take him off.

Lichtenstein took a sore one. Giovinco came on and managed one fresh air shot.

Lichtenstein's a right tricky customer. Not much goes past him one way or another.

Juve look more easily attacked down the right. But Lichtensteiner is good for a booking whenever i've seen him play. He saved Juve a certain goal by running out to block a shot that was almost an open goal, saving it with his hand, but it was one of those "ball to hand moments, but his hand was moving towards the ball and he was the last man.
He got away with it, so it goes down as brilliant defending. In the Premiership it's a goalscoring opportunity, he's the last man. Borderline, but denying a goal scoring opportunity, sometimes they get given, sometimes they don't.

Here's the goal, great strike from Totti: Free-kick deflects off the wall and lands at Totti's feet...

We got hammered indeed, we had no petrol left in our tank. It was our third big game in less than 7 days, we had that coming.

But anyway, no time for excuses, need to focus on our next game.

The 3-0 loss at Parkhead will only make it all the more legendary when we book our place in the last 8 of the competition

The difference between the Italian Serie A and the Scottish Premier League is remarkable.
Catania or Udinese can win the SPL without problem for my opinion...
With the exclusion of of the Rangers in the Scottish Premier League, the league level will only lower, as happened in the Italian championship with the exclusion of Juventus in 2006.

However, since childhood I have always proved to charm your league.

    Respect.

The defeat on Tuesday reminded me of Irelands defeat to France in Paris 09. Absolutely heart broken and to lose in the manner that we did was not deserved at all.

Why is it always the cheats who get the rewards?

As much as I'd like to say otherwise, I can't see us managing to overhaul this. A 0-3 or 1-4 to us in Turin? Just isn't going to happen in my opinion. I don't think Juventus played to their maximum at Parkhead, but they managed to get the best result any team could hope for in Glasgow (I mean at parkhead, Unirea Urziceni can do it in glasgow..) mainly due to 2 stupid defensive errors and a collection of missed chances for us. I think Juventus know the scoreline really flattered them, Conte's reaction when Juve went 2-0 up I think was genuine delight mixed in with surprise and relief.

However, I thought we played pretty well in the game and still proud of the club for what we've achieved in Europe this year, Lennon said he wanted to put us back on the map in European football and I think this year has laid the foundations for it and maybe more. Hopefully we get this wee adventure more often than we have the past few years :50:
