Yes, Lichtsteiner dived, it was embarrassing etc.

I was just pointing out the irony in somebody complaining about Mediterraneans diving while his club captain also was caught diving.

Must admit you've got a point about Sammy. Make no mistake, though, we deserved to go through from that group. If Barca hadn't played their under 9's against Benfica in that final game, a draw would have been enough for us. I love the big sexy *, but it looked a dive to me. We all know Forrest sometimes goes down very easily (or at least he used to). Personally I absolutely loved the borderline time wasting with Sammy and Mulgrew in the corner at the end of that match too. I don't personally have a problem with Juve trying their luck with a weak ref. As you say, almost all teams do. I do have a problem with said referee failing to enforce the laws of the game constantly throughout the entire match and thus neutralising one of our biggest threats. So no, I don't think you're a bunch of cheats; but yes, I do think the terrible ref influenced the game. Of course he made a terrible decision against you in not giving that goal, so I'm not saying he was biased; but luckily your player followed up, so that mistake didn't actually affect the game in any way. Would we have won with a decent ref? Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. Would we have lost 3 * 0? I don't believe so for a second. At worst 3-2.
As for Brown, he is not that sort of player, but the referee was ignoring the pushing and Brown had to find some way to stop him sticking his head in the sand. My strong suspicion is that the referee was deliberately ignoring these incidents because the useless muppet didn't know himself whether Hooper was allowed to do what he was doing and was scared to make the wrong decision.

Brilliant pic! Shows exactly what we're talking about. And you can clearly see the *%$& has a perfect view of the whole thing. I'm trying very hard not to hate this guy just for being useless at his job, but I really hope he never referees at this level again.

There are 5 Celtic players in that picture and 4 of them are being fouled. 3 of them are being fouled blatantly enough to warrant a penalty. The referee has a perfect view of everything.

To make up 3 goals, on the road, against a good defensive and counterattacking team- near mission impossible. I just hope we get first goal, and it comes early enough in the game to make things interesting, maybe for Juve to tense up a bit and proceed to make a stupid decision or two. * knows, we're overdue.

Hopefully Sammy is at his best and can give us the cutting edge we lacked in the first leg.
