Listen, we were obviously the better team yesterday. We essentially, dominated them. You can argue that the game was lost on a bad decisions by the ref (I was perplexed why we didn't receive at least one penalty), and we extremely unlucky not to score. But overall Juve were tactically better than us.

The early goal was a killer. As soon as it went in - it was so obvious they were going to sit back and soak up all the pressure, then, try to hit us on the break (which they did). Lennon should have understood this. We have had months to prepare for the game. But we didn't have the tools equipped to deal with closed and compact defences (spl anyone?)

With regards to Ambrose, although I rate him highly it was only a matter of time before he was going to have a game like this. I don't think he was that fatigued, nevertheless he should never have started. Lennon was at fault for this. I would have much rather had Mulgrew at CB because apart from his delivery, despite a few good moments I felt was rather weak in midfield. Kayal or Ledley would have been a much better option imo.

What we lacked yesterday was what we have been lacking all season, cutting edge up front. We had hardly any creativity in the final third, and that was our downfall. Crossing the ball in every attack is all well and good but with Commons, Hooper and Forrest in the box, how many are they really going to get onto? Lustig and Izzy whipped in loads of great crosses yesterday, it was a shame no one could get onto them.

Last night after the game left me angry, depressed and dejected. An anti-climax if there ever was one. I felt we deserved so much more out of the game, and by the stats and the way we performed the 3-0 score line probably suited us more. Today, I stay hopeful. It is going to be a miracle to go to Turin and equal or better the scoreline. But this is football and stranger things have happened, I certainly wouldn't put it past Celtic this season. When we meet them again we need learn from our mistakes, play to our best and give it everything we've got. If this is the last of our campaign, at least we can say it was an unbelievable journey. Our best assets will be off in the summer, so we need to take what we can get from that, rebuild and grow. I'm sure we will be back competing with the big boys soon enough. We are a young great squad that has cost pennies to assemble, and we have a young great manager that's learning more every game. This season has done the players a world good of experience. Onwards and upwards, faithful through and through, the future is bright! HH. :shamrock:

    Sorry I don't understand this.

If you concede three goals and you are not dangerous up front, retain only 49% possession throughout the game, why would you deserve a draw?

I think we really played crap, but you cannot question those numbers.

Oh for * sake, because on any other night, you would not have scored those cheap goals. It doesn't take a genius to understand it.

Ambrose was in South Africa the morning of the game and it was stupid to throw him right back in there, but we can only see that now, when it is too late. He was at fault for two out of three goals.

We deserved a draw at the very least.

Because we dominated for long periods, were camped in your half for most of the game and created lots of chances. We just weren't clinical enough. And of course the fact that we were denied several penalties.

I'm also proud Lennon decided to make/let us attack and play football the proper Celtic way, rather than just parking the bus and being typically British.
Ironically though, if we had been as negative and boring as Juve we would have won the match. :54:

This was the first time iv seen juve play since they get demoted. They are actually rather *. Porto made us look alot worse than what shitentus did. No green specs here, celtic were the better side, played better, more attractive fair football. in turin i think we will pump them good if they continue there tactics of, park the bus to try stop the superior team, celtic.

Last night was another frustrating European night where we have been yet again cheated by the referee and disgraceful Italian *. But so proud of the way we played, the only mistake Lennon made was taking Ambrose anywhere close to a football pitch, he took a risk and back fired it happens but for 70 minutes we outplayed Juventus but didn't take our chances. And for the muppets saying it was embarrassing they are the Italian champions, and to the obsessed huns remember Unirea in the champions league?hahaha deluded jealous zombies :bbpd:

Well Lenny showed how naive he is last night .
He should have subbed Ambrose and Forrest at half time as both were not performing on the night but NO he pulls the best 2 Celtic players off the park in Commons and Broony .

Get the first goal in Turin to "Unlock" the tie.
Get the second to bring the tie back to life
Get the third to get back in the tie
Get the forth to win the tie.

2 minutes in... Samaras drives a header past Buffon. Juventus 0 - 1 Celtic. The Italians are briefly unsettled but quickly take control of the game.

50 minutes in... Celtic still lead despite the Italian's strangehold on the game. Celtic counter from a Juve corner. Commons pings a diagonal ball into the path of Hooper. Hooper ruthlessly thunders the ball high into the net. 2-0 celtic. Game on

87 minutes in... Juve are suffocating the Celtic team. No Celtic player has left Celtic's half for the past 10 minutes. Wanyama wins the ball at the edge of the celtic D and tanks through the wall of attacking Italians. Watt and Emilio surge down either wing. Wanyama slices the ball through to Izzy. Izzy sees Watt rushing into the penalty and curls a sweet ball that lands at his feet. Tony * Waaaa drills the ball into the net. Juventus 0 - Celtic 3. Game on.

90 +4 minutes.. The full time whistle goes and extra time is guaranteed.

116 minutes... Lustig 30 yard wonder goal.

Celtic are through to the last 8.

We dominated the game last night. The other week in the epl penaltys were given for grappling in the box Aswell. The one on brown was clear for everyone to see and I'm astounded it wasn't given. No one gave us a chance of even making the last 16. I hope juventus get * the next round

Seeing neil getting some stick on twitter from our fans! gie the guy a break. as much as the ref * us we didn't take our chances either, but the fact we were taking the game to juve says a lot about the team and Neil as a manager. I do not blame him for the result, few dodgy decisions, not taking our chances and a Juve team who punish you for defensive mistakes thats what cost us the match

The rub of the green often makes the difference at this level; that's why it's such a cruel game.

Two stupid Ambrose mistakes defensively, and he botches the free header. Mix in poor refereeing. Just not gonna get a result when things all go the same direction.

I have had a ST for 15 years & lastnight was the worst game i have ever been to.

This was due to a couple of fans

I got moved from my ST seat to do with the EUFA seats. When i got into the game found the seats me my son & newphew were sitting in (9+10 years old)

5 or 6 guys come in & one of them is totally pished, within the first 5 minutes of the game starting im arguing with him as he keeps running in front of me & the 2 kids. His attitude was i sit here everyweek:31: :31: the stewards had a word with him about 6 times during the game & it got to the point even the people he was with were going crazy with him for running in front of them.

At about 25 minutes i go to the toilet with the 2 kids (pishy wee muppets) & come back to a guy sitting in my seat, so says to him mate thats my seat with which he says im only talking to these guys the 6 guys from before & another argument starts as he says i was cheeky by this time the 2 kids im with are getting scared as he was getting agro.

Missed a lot of the game due to trying to see round this pished guy & trying to make sure the kids were ok.

I will say there was a nice woman infront of me who apologised for constantly swearing infront of the kids :56: :56:
