It's the usual stereotypes, we harried and harrassed, but we also played good football.
We kept the ball and passed it well. Technically all the players for Celtic are very good.

But we always get these stereotypes about "pressing" being "physical" and "bravery".
Sure we did, but it's not all their is to it. Technically Celtic are very good on their day as a team and as individuals it's not just about pressing and being physical for long periods, Juve couldn't get the ball back.

Let's not forget Juve were the team that resorted to long ball football to get the first goal because they couldn't get the ball over the half way line playing "good" football.

So to * with this stereotype that it's all braveheart and guts and determination. That's some patronizing pish to be honest. We have that, sure we do, but we have players who are technically really good. We came close to showing it and hopefully you'll see it in more devastating fashion next time.

Wanyama, Lustig, Commons, Forrest, Hooper, Brown, Izaguiire are all very intelligent and skillful players. So is Mulgrew. It's obviously a thing that players at Juve get elevated to this astral level, but it's not true to suggest that we only have players who play a physical game and therefore the only good player we have is Wanyama. You've yet to see the best of this Celtic team. We'll see how you get on if we do decide to set up the next game physical. We can sure as * set up physical, but we played an open fair game with good movement and possession. We looked fitter and technically better than these so called giants of football for long periods.

We just don't have the depth of squad Juve have, and effectively that showed in the end.

Yeh the match fixing thing has got old now, firstly as you mentioned the evidence is loose at points, and secondly it's coming up to a decade ago and the people involved are long gone from juve.

He was fouling imo but the ref didn't give it and these sort of fouls don't get given quite often. It's the age old proposed solution but if ref started giving pens automatically then it would all stop. Hopefully we will have an initiative in coming years to inform coaches it isn't acceptable at all.

I would be * off if I was a celtic fan no doubt but I'd mainly be thinking that despite that we made mistakes and that's what really killed us.

With regards to you being the better team I think you can't say that if you lose 3-0, IF ambrose hadn't imploded then I would agree but a defensive mistake has to be incorporated in to the quality of performance. As unlike what Gordon Strachan said on itv last night, the 3rd goal counts so even though you were deflated ambrose shouldn't have done that.

The 3rd goal is the sucker punch cos 2-0 is very hard to come back from but an early goal I turin changes that. 3-0 is too much I think and ultimately ambrose has cost you the tie if you had to pick one factor.

Aye, that was my point with L'sN and the cultural differences thing. When it comes to European competition, UEFA have to make it clear that the little differences in domestic football don't matter a jot, it's both sets of teams in a neutral competition, not playing in their own leagues where things are let go. It's the same for us, we learned the hard way over time that ref's in Europe generally aren't accepting of harrying the opposition all over the place when they're on the ball and "overly" physical tackles which here are just viewed as very good tackles and would get a massive round of applause.

Spain and Italy are far bigger countries with far bigger resources to purchase players and pay their wages. We, for the time being, have to do the best with what we have.

Well Hooper did it against Barca, Benfica and Spartak and nobody wrestled him to the ground in those games.

I hope Juventus get battered off whoever they get next. Preferably Barcelona.

Britons are not able to play football. In fact, their national teams have never won anything.

Marking the keeper is not a fair and legal thing to do. It's a euphemism for 'obstructing the keeper'. Why does a keeper need to be marked? Hooper has no intention of playing the ball in that situation. Celtic were trying to gain an advantage in that situation by making use of the dark arts. Juve countered by doing the same. The referee rightly booked both players. There's not much more to it than that.

A player putting his hands on another player is a bookable offence. Lichtsteiner was already booked, yet didn't get sent off.

Thankyou for being big enough to admit that it was fouling, and not just blindly defend him :50:

I think everyone agrees that it was up to the ref to have the balls to call it a foul and take action, which he didn't.

I can't disagree that the end scoreline takes something away from the overall performance - as does Ambrose' mistakes - but nevertheless in my own opinion we have the right to say we were the better team for most of the game.

We didn't test Buffon as we should have, but I feel we were quite comfortable playing against you for most of the game, even though it was obvious Conte had decided to change tactically and go for the counter attack.

It did ultimately work for you, admittedly. Just overall the performances of our two teams were very different, and I think we were very good where Juve were quite poor, but clinical. That was the difference.

Yes, but even Brown and Hooper, and Brown must have receive more than a yellow card because of its fouls on Pirlo...
