To be fair he did at one point, near the end of the first half.

The incident you're talking about was yet another terrible decision by the ref.

i can mind izzy going down when no one was near him but that was down to losing his footing more than anything else as he never looked for the foul

Now you're being disrespectful. You don't make it to the last 16 of this competition but simply standing in front of the goalkeeper.

It's unbelievable that they left Celtic Park 3-0 up after that game, we controlled most of the game and made most of the chances. Individual errors at the back cost us the goals.

It has to be said, the referee was abysmal as well. The * bottled it.

I agree about the culture difference but the game was invented in England.. Shouldn't it be those rules that stand?

Is this the time that he was clipped tried to stay up but fell a few seconds later when his legs got tangled?

    Genuinely cant remember him diving.

Forrest went down a bit easy in the box once though.

Interesting that Wanyama had one of his worst performances in a Celtic shirt and the Juve fans are saying he was a stand out.

Finally, a sensible and respectful post from an opposing supporter.

Thank you for your honest assessment of the match.

No, otherwise we'd all be using the same rules as that year, because who are we from a different generation to change the original founders rules if simply being from another country meant you can't, know what I mean :smiley-laughing002:?

It is the job of the world/European governing body to establish and enforce the norms and rules through referees in a multinational competition, the domestic culture differences are natural. If they spill over into continental competition that is also natural, for them (and us for that matter). It is then the ref/assistants who should be saying "hold on a minute, that's not acceptable in this competition regardless of where you're from".

Yeah, Wanyama will be for one of the best clubs in the best Leagues very soon.

I was surprised Lennon was so brave and we managed to put Juventus under so much pressure. The early goal really changed the game, and we struggled to break down your defence.

The late goals were as a result of tiredness, and clever counter-attacks. Juventus were just too smart for us in the end.

There's been a few decent posts over the course of this thread.

Also been horrendous posts from both sets of fans right enough, which naturally kicks off a torrent of abuse both ways :56:

Clinical is the word. Actually uncharacteristically clinical in my opinion, since usually it takes a few chances before they score one. See as evidence the Lazio semi final were they had lots of chances but where done by Lazio being clinical.

Think the reason why juve fans would single out wanyama who may not have had a spectacular game is the way he at times dominated our midfield. Vidal is no pushover, he's like a pitbull and very rarely gets outdone by a midfield opponent. Wanyama won the ball from him on a couple of occasions where Vidal would never lose it.

Vidal is top class, and that's why I take it as a massive compliment that we genuinely did dominate the midfield for most of the game. A midfield trio which is up there with the best in the world in my opinion. Marchisio was the stand out last night, but Pirlo and Vidal were kept reasonably quiet and that is going to send Wanyama's standing sky high yet again. That's Xavi and Vidal/Pirlo he's played well against this year. No one will ignore that. Unforunately for us :smiley-laughing002:

At this moment in time I'd still say Wanyama wouldn't get into that midfield. Vidal, Marchisio and Pirlo complement each other brilliantly.

But Wanyama is getting better all the time and will be a massive star very soon.

What are you guys talking about? I signed up on purpose to tell you what I think because you do not digest the defeat is fine, but that you accuse Juve to do Catenaccio or that his players are simulators is unacceptable. And you think you would have deserved to win?

Wake up, perhaps in Scotland are the strongest team (easier now that there are not Rangers) but in Europe yours is not a good football. We knew exactly what was going to happen in the game because you are a physical team and we knew that you would have beaten our players from the beginning to the end. And once we took the lead it was better to have no risks, not because we were afraid of you, but because we knew that you would have beaten from the beginning to the end. And so it was, Brown had to receive a yellow card more than once for his hard work, and Hooper was hateful on the corner kicks, and what do you think the poor Lichtsteiner had to do? Let him do it, maybe catch the ball undisturbed or disturb the outputs of Buffon? Be serious, a defending do this as a task and it is logical that there are markings hard in the penalty area, otherwise there would be 10 penalties every game. And your European palmares prove what I'm saying ... it's quite poor, and it means that I am right to say that your football in Europe do not always pay.

Juve usually does not play that way. It 'a team that always tries to impose their game, and you have seen that in the Champions League with Chelsea or the Shaktar for example, but if we played in that way yesterday we could loose, not because the Celtic was stronger but because it is a different team and it is more physical than Juve. And the Barcelona knows something. Better to wait and start again, and in fact the result agrees with me. And that means that Juve knows even change skin, capable of suffering and start again, which is an essential skill if you want to go far.
In the future, be more humble and try to understand that Juve is light years away from the Italian game as you understand it and indeed we have been damaged by the referee, because if Marchisio had not thrown in the first goal the referee would not have given the goal of Matri because he had not seen. And also consider that Hooper and Brown in Italy would be expelled.
Sorry if my English is not perfect.

kuabba82, Juventus are cheating *. The whole world saw it. Even against a much weaker team you had to cheat to defend successfully. Celtic dominated about 60 minutes of the game, and had we not been cheated we would have been level or even head due to the penalties we would have gotten. A few defensive errors led to a scoreline which was totally undeserved.

I will be rooting for Juve to lose from here on out, in every single game they play.
