I feel more proud than angry now.

After re-evaluating everything that happened last night with a clear head after sleep, we have done ourselves really proud on the grandest stage yet again. The only real mistake was playing Ambrose, but maybe that can be put down to tactical naivety and inexperience on the European stage, with regards to Lenny.

People forget that this is our first time playing in the CL with this squad, because we have done so well to get to this point. Even great managers like WGS and MON couldn't get past the last 16, so there is no shame in what happened last night, unless you're a Juventus supporter.

Brown adds so much to the team. His energy, pressing and generally setting the tone/example for the rest of the team was great.
And I love it when he just smirks at people when he's had a wee nibble at them. It's him at his absolute best.

But, and I hate to say it, the amount of passes he misplaced was very poor.

Juve were the ones with the spoiling tactics, not Celtic. Juventus were time-wasting early on, they were grabbing and pulling at every opportunity.

you would also have to look ar Pirlo in that video putting up a confusion tactic.

they all swarmed around the ref because they thought the red card was coming out.

pirlo makes a stamping gesture that he didn't see because it never happened.

as soon as it became apparent Lichtenstein's backup had arrived he got up because nobody touched him.

lichtensteiner obviously thought, *, i better go down here because i have to make it look like i'm completely innocent.

so they bully the ref and make him think, maybe i should send them both off.

Pirlo makes a stamping gesture and he obviously wanted Broony sent off because Broony had him in his back pocket for the majority of the game

not really, I watch your team that wasn't able to score trying tricks on the goalkeeper, and I saw mine demolish yours with few easy steps.
    Watch again the Marchisio goal.
If a team is able to do something like that for scoring it deserves to go through.
When we'll find the Barcelona we'll go out because they are better than us in that, that's all.

Wanyama is clearly very talented, he'll go on to be a very good player. Izaguirre was good too, he crosses very well. I was slightly disappointed by Hooper. Perhaps he just had an off day, or perhaps it wasn't the type of match that suits him, but I thought he wasn't particularly incisive.

I think you have a very good team, but you're lacking some creativity and spark in the final third. You could do with a number 10 sort of player who can provide the final pass. For all Celtic's pressure throughout the match, they didn't seem to have any plan besides whipping in crosses, which Juve generally dealt with relatively comfortably. If Celtic had another attacking strategy it would have kept Juve's defence true and made them struggle more.

That's exactly how we should all feel. We'll all be disappointed, but it's such a young side.

If we can get our hands on a real classy player in sort of a number ten role we could be competing again next year.
Someone to play the final pass could have made all the difference last night. We had a lot of possession, but very little craft or guile in the final third.
Forrest never got in a one-on-one situation, and we resorted to shots from distance or crosses from the full-backs.

On another night that might have worked for us, but Juve were so compact defensively it was difficult to get anything.

and you were always on the goalkeeper because that's the only way you have to score.

As are Dortmund, man utd, Real Madrid and Bayern. You are not that good a side tbh, not nearly as good as I thought you would have been. Having watched that last night, I can say with confidence juventus will not win this years champions league

Tricks on the goalkeeper? What tricks were they? Nobody touched Buffon the whole game

You scored 2 out of your 3 goals at the expense of a defender who had just played in a cup final in South Africa two days previously

We dominated your crop of match fixing cheats last night and were undone only by poor defending by an unfit Ambrose. Look at the stats for the game and that might give you a clearer picture, rather than focusing on the scoreline.

Izaguirre did blatantly once then looks like he was trying to go down easy. If this was reversed I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be insulting celtic etc. But only to a point because football involves random things so all you can do is win in the conditions that are present. The reason you lost was defensive mistakes and an overall lack of quality in the delivery and finishing.

You're acting as if we won the game by cheating, no, there were some unsavoury scenes but we stood up to a very physical team and ruthlessly punished them.

At the end of the day, Juventus were more clever, technically better and more organized in every department both on and off the park.

I'm still very proud of the results this season of course however but I just wish we'd approached last night's match a good bit different in terms of team selection and tactics. My aim would have been for a nil nil.

Difference in culture evident right there.

Tricks on the keeper? To us that is what you're told to do as a youngster - mark the keeper without touching him. That's what Hooper done, stand in front of him with hands at his side, no more, no less.

You've hit the nail on the head. Nobody does that in Italy. And if somebody tried, it would always be called as a foul on the goalkeeper. Juve knew that Celtic would do it, and they had no faith in the referee blowing a foul, so they defended it as best as they could.

You're going to upset people with comments like that, considering a lot of us will still be hurting after seeing our team lose so heavily.

Congratulations on the win, perhaps you should enjoy it with other Juventus fans?

Very fair assessment. Wanyama and Izaguirre were very good.

Agree on Hooper. He is a top finisher, but needs the service and Juve made sure he didn't get it. He had three defenders around him and he didn't really get a sniff at goal. He showed in the group stages he doesn't need many chances to score, but last night Juve gave him nothing.

Totally agree about the number ten. We're all hoping Rogic or McGeouch can develop into that.

    When was this?

Im just after remembering the time Izzy has clearly fouled just outside your box and the ref somehow came to the conclusion your player got the ball! :38: Another match changing decision considering how deadly Mulgrew is with dead balls.

If I had to be honest and say a player who really impressed me, as in I thought I want juve to buy him, was wanyama. He really is very good and so impressive physically as well.

But the team impressed me a lot and that's why I don't get why celtic fans aren't talking about why they were proud/disaapointed. The pressing and bravery on and off the ball was awesome imo and I'm not being patronising because you name a team and they would have struggled to play against you in that game.

No team has done that to us under conte, seriously I was thinking * is happening here and if we didn't get that early goal the tie would still be open I'm 100% sure of that.
