At the end of the day, Arios, your team were terrified of set pieces and knew the only way to stop us was to blatantly foul players inside the box.

Your team should hold their heads in shame that they had to cheat to win because they were terrified.

The more I see those pictures of Hooper being wrestled about like that the more it angers me.

Some of the comments on here after any defeat are cringeworthy.

Not looking at the ball and holding a player is not football my friend! That is an anti-football tactic. A good referee would have awarded a penalty and it would have stopped all the nonsense. Hooper got booked for lightly pushing Lichsteiner in the first half, so surely he should have been booked for doing the exact same to Brown? Which would have been his 2nd yellow by the way! The referee was shocking, pure and simple, twice he missed blatant fouls on Izaguirre as well. Well done, you punished our mistakes in a smash and grab win. But in all honesty, I wasn't impressed with Juventus. I can't remember a game in Europe where Celtic have dominated so much. 3-0 was extremely flattering for you lot.

    Good comment.
In fact, nobody in Italy expected that kind of play from Juventus last night.
Since Conte came on our bench 1 and half year ago, it has been the 1st time Juve were outplayed for more than 20-30 minutes, and you succeeded for more than 1 hour!
It is not usual for us and that shows two things:
    1) Celtics quality and charactere
    2) we're able to adapt to different situation
If we played always like that, I'd be worry......but I think it has been just a case. It happens in football also to the good teams, which I hope ours is.

It doesn't happen only to Barça, but they 're probably the best team in football history.

In our recent semifinal in Coppa Italia vs Lazio, we had 10 clear chances to score, between the two legs, and we scored only twice. We had always the ball in possessio, always. Lazio did three cross, not either three shots....just three cross, scored 3 times, and got the Final. What to do?

    About dead balls.
Surely Mr. Conte prepared the players to that.
There has been many fights in the box, but I have not seen any excess.
You 're the first to admit that it's a your tactical to capitalize dead balls, so you give much energie in that. The opponents put down the same energie.

For a supposedly tough, aggressive British team you are all surprisingly sensitive to mild contact in the box. If Matri had dived in the box the way Commons did in the first half you would all be calling him a cheat. If Juve were to be given a penalty for a 'foul' similar to Lichtsteiner's you would all be livid.

You should be proud that your team played quite well and take the defeat with dignity.

As for the guy who said that every pundit said that Celtic should have had at least one penalty - no, every British-based pundit may have said that, but forgive me for taking it with a pinch of salt. I watched the match on ITV last night and the punditry was pathetic.

Nothing would beat the feeling we'd get from dumping them out in the second leg.

Let's believe it, the second leg is now war. Lichtensteiner fouls Scott Brown, thinks, *, i might get another yellow card here, i better fall over and try and get him sent off.

It was unbelievably childish and terribly bad sportsmanship.

They showed a complete disrespect to us and the referee. They knew before the game the ref was a joke and absolutely ripped the * out the referee.

Let them say what they want, but in the second leg we need to go out and get their players sent off. Juventus are now under the spotlight, the tactic obviously came from the training ground and was used to try and provoke players to do something silly and get sent off.

A penalty to us and Lichtenstein sent off would have really made the game interesting.

Juve fans know they got out of jail, hence why they wanna give it the old pigeon english yahoo, when it's clear for all to see, Juve made complete twats of themselves on live TV.

We all saw it, so you can hardly deny it happened, and we have at least a second leg to go out and right this wrong. Me personally, i'd go out and try and take more free-kicks and corners off them.

They have let in a few goals lately from crosses and this was Conte's response.

It was a tactical decision that goes against the laws of the game, and it came purely from fear.

Dignity? Juventus were * * - we expected a skilful team - a classy team. All we got was a bunch of cheats we ran off the park who had obviously promised the referee a new Ferrari if he cheated too. We never have an issue with getting beat by a better team - if Juventus is the best your league has to offer, then it ain't much better than our third division.
Your team is crap, they cheat, they fix matches - what the * would YOU know about dignity?

Clearly ignored my reply to your post about the rules of the game.

The British media have nothing invested in Celtic, Celtic is the least British of all the clubs in Britain and we have no way of aiding the English European co-efficient, so what could the English-dominated British media possibly gain from being one-sided on the matter?

The punditry for once wasn't so bad from ITV. The only thing that was pathetic was that excuse of a referee and his and your ignorance when it comes to the laws of the game.

If you're going to be so pedantic about the rules of the game, you should also know that it can't be a penalty unless the ball is in play. Hence, no penalty.

Pedantic? ffs - this is why this team, their league, and everyone from their President down is a corrupt, thieving cheating scummer.
Rules are not there to be cast aside - just because YOU lot have no conception of obeying them

If you read my post, you'd see there was no mention about penalties, I said your players should have seen 2 red cards.

On that note, there was pushing and shoving, particularly from Lichtsteiner, while the ball was in play, but it was these occasions that the referee chose to ignore and do nothing. Go back and watch and you'll see that half the pushing and shoving and arms round Celtic players continued when play started.

    Better team won.
At least Celtic are relatively debt free, it is an uneven playing field, clubs with debts of over £50 million should not be allowed to take part in this competition, it is run by moneymongers for the benefit of their own kind.

At least we will be back next season, Glasgow's only participant

Hopefully CFC can bring through Scottish talent to match legends of 67 & Quality street Kids in future years:shamrock:
