Italy is worth like * currently, in italian football the power is in the hands of the teams of Milan, Juventus in politics is nothing and Fiat group is thinking other things.

Without Antonio Conte we would be a low level team.

Kris Commons was left bemused by the failure to award Celtic a penalty in the 3-0 defeat to Juventus in their Champions League last-16 first-leg.
Juve defenders appeared to be holding back Celtic players at set-pieces.
"Gary Hooper was pulled down to the ground on far too many occasions and we got no rewards," said Commons.
"You've got a referee there, a guy behind the goal, a linesman - the whole idea of the official behind the goal is to look out for this sort of stuff."
The midfielder added: "If he can't identify when people are being hauled, manhandled, wrestled to the floor then I don't think he should be in a job.
He's 10 or 15 yards away and if it was a clear foul it should've been a penalty.
"When we had this whole prep talk about the officials being in this area, this is the things they were pointing out and looking for - shirt-pulling and manhandling."
The Glasgow side slumped to defeat as the Turin outfit added to an early goal from Alessandro Matri with second-half strikes from Claudio Marchisio and Mirko Vucinic.
Midfielder Commons revealed Spanish referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco warned the Juventus players on several occasions that their grappling may lead to a Celtic spot-kick.
"He said if you do it again they'll get a penalty - that was in the first half," Commons said.
"He kept stopping it and booking people and telling people to stop it.
"It clearly had no effect because right up until the 91st minute when we had a corner it was still going on."
Celtic manager Neil Lennon echoed Common's thoughts.
"It looked like the Juventus players were fouling at every opportunity," he said.
"The referee was warned by our players to keep an eye on it and he ignored our requests.
"Every time we went to lose a marker we were being hauled back and the referee was looking straight at it.
"They were being manhandled. They were being fouled. It's not rugby we're playing.
"Are the rules different in Spain in Italy? On that showing, they must be.

    :50:Well said Commons lad :celt_2:

Yeah, the tie is over. I always expected a tight game and I gave Juve a 50% chance of winning it, but never in my wildest nightmares did I think we might lose 3-0. That just doesn't happen at Celtic Park. But to lose playing so well just makes it so much worse.
There have been some great memories this season, but I'll never forget this either. :54:

Can't sleep, work's going to be sheer * tomorrow.

Celtic is a very big club. Not saying its not, in my eyes it the biggest and best club in the world .... But unfortunately the rest of Europe don't see us like that. In their eyes were whopping bhoys. I'm sad to say it, even though we had good possession, they still looked better on the ball than us. They are a technically gifted team. And as much as I love our scouting system n transfer policies, I think we need more technically gifted players or were not gonna ever get past the last 16. Again I think we were all over them tonight but any time they got a chance they made it happen. We couldn't, we started getting desperate. Its a sad day for us

i'd rather be a celtic fan going out in the last 16 than a juve fan
    going into the last 8.
we hold our heads high and would never stoop to the dirty cheating
play acting tactics of those juve players tonight.
    * disgraceful, ref included....hope you's get pumped in the
    next round.

Yes. It was a defensive and tactical masterclass. Everyone knows Juve is a defensively sound team, and that is when they are attacking. Conte knew a team as well organized as Juventus sitting in the box would never concede to a team like Celtic, and they didn't. Celtic pressed and tried and Juve's defender's were content to just head each cross out. You only had one free header the entire match. Soon enough the players became tired and Juve pounced. Simply put:
"You have to say Celtic have been very aggressive and committed but they look like a team tailor-made for this Juve. It has been like watching a big cat take down a stampeding wilderbeest. Slowly at first and with lots of galloping hooves all over the place but in the end a rather clinical fangs in the jugular job."

Lenny made an excellent point about the 2001 game. The same thing happened to Sutton, the referee warned the Juve players. It happened again. He gave a penalty. End of fouling.

Also the penalty claims are ridiculous. It's * * basic knowledge that you can't give a penalty when the ball isnt in play. It is also basic knowledge that obstructing the keeper is a foul, and that is what Hooper was trying to do.

What really * me off is, out supposed "warriors" of players in Brown, Wanyama etc stood like little * when these feminine * bullied them in the box. Also Lennon has to go mental at the players in these situations; not just the ref.

That is a massive assumption, this is the first time this group of players have played in the champions league. Although I think we will finish 3rd in our group next season, I am hopefully we will see a celtic side reach the quarter finals of the champions league in the next 5 years :celt_2:

Well why wasn't fouls given against us when hooper did it against barca and benfica? Because a striker has the right to stand where he wants as long he doesn't lift his arms and try to obstruct the keeper
