In fact it seems that after the shutters went down and people told that the tickets were all sold, the stewards then announced soon afterwards that those that had hung around should leave their names and contact numbers and they would be entered into a ballot for the remaining tickets.

Demand is greater than supply. Although how many free-loaders will receive tickets which could have went to those who bought the 3 match package. Also the scumbags advertising the selling of tickets on various sites want there baws toed.

Not a lot the club can do when demand clearly outweighs supply.

Just glad I got mine today, had someone queuing for hours for which I'm grateful, can't wait for it :celt_2:

Those who patched their ST because the huns went out the game may think differently come renewal time now. And I bet those who renewed regardless will be feeling vindicated.

It's only right that ST holders are looked after, some would argue its not before time. After all they are the lifeblood of the club, even more so in times like this.

I have to go long with the sentiment that its all right the club going on about how great our fans are etc, lengths of queues for tickets this morning etc, but the fact so many of those tickets will be in the hands of people who only go against Barcelona, Spartak etc cannot be ignored, some of the games around Christmas were barely 30k in my view and the others that were actually there.

It does appear that as big as a our supporter base is we do have a massive percentage who are only interested in Hun/European games, the usual suspects will probably pan me but the facts dont lie.

I can imagine the "Tickets Needed" Section will be very busy in the next few weeks from irregular visitors to Paradise, and Im not talking about for the Dundee United Home game!

Totally agree about the Season Ticket Holders, many abandoned their season tickets due to no huns games, that alone means the extra tickets deserved to go to the folk that support Celtic every week rather than when big games come up.

We all know folk who used to have season tickets and never used them bar the Huns games and a handfull of others!

Sorry- I don't understand what you mean.

In an ideal world Celtic would get a full-house every week and season tickets would be like gold dust. Preferably the club wouldn't need to offer any additional rewards/incentives to season ticket holders. But unforunately that's just not the case. As I've said, there seems to be a growing culture among some sections of the Celtic support which has seen them give up their season tickets with the attitude 'we're safe. We'll pick up tickets or packages for the 'big games' easily'. That simply cannot be a trend Celtic wish to encourage. If you start that, you end up creating a precedent which may very well see current season ticket holders saying to themselves 'why don't I just give up my season ticket, and pick and choose the 'big games' like everybody else?'

As much as I can understand your frustrations, there simply isn't a 'fairer' system which also encourages season ticket holders to renew (certainly not one I've heard anyway).

Quite clear they bought the 2 extra with the sole intention of selling for profit.

A real shame to all those who waited inline this morning only to get turned away.

Surprised a few of the lads on my bus didn't get their extra tickets, something about the queue putting you to the back after waiting for ages to get to the checkout stage. Gutted for the ones who were buying for others on the bus who were at work as they go pretty much every other week including away games.

    Horrible situation for many today.

I have to say though i think that its right for season ticket holders to be looked after.

I know a lot have said if you are not happy then you should have a season ticket. However i know thats not always possible for people who work on matchdays or have family or are unemployed etc.

I do think thought that more (i dont mean all) fans could make more of an effort to come to SPL games every now and again.

I think there wasnt a good outcome either way from this today, many fans were always going to be disappointed. I do think though that fans need to understand ST holders must come first. Thats nothing against fans who dont have a season ticket for different reasons, but we do put so much money into the club and most of us are there whatever the weather is and travelling a distance like myself to be there week in week out.

Celtic did say any tickets left would be given to fans who bought 3 match packages which was a great idea but i dont think Celtic expected a demand like this at all, so some of these fans have missed out which is a shame.

What i will say is to those who didnt get, keep an eye out as a limited number might still go on sale. Tickets for Thomas Cook etc are put aside plus they are still selling premium half season tickets which gaurantees the Juve game. So if these arent snapped up Celtic might put these on sale for this individual game, even though it might be slightly more expensive.

I was one of the lucky ones to get a ticket today, but my friend who was in the que while I was online told me guys were punting them outside the ticket office for 200 quid after buying them. Pretty horrible behaviour and something I do not ever remember hearing about at Celtic.

It is hard to knock clubs for fleecing fans when the fans themselves are so eager to do just that to other supporters. Poor show

As regards the debate around priority given to season ticket holders I think it is only right. They make the most effort week in week out and the club has to give fans a reason to buy season tickets as opposed to just buying tickets when it suits. If a stadium holds 60000 people and 80000 people want a ticket for a game, there is always going to be disappointed people.

    Well they probably are.

Going over old ground, but as a season ticket holder I was looked after - I had my ticket guaranteed up until the Tuesday deadline and it was at a reduced rate. That is more than good enough for me.

Celtic should have systems in place which would have enabled them to offer tickets to those non-season ticket holders who have attended most games this season. Nothing is an ideal system but that would be the best. As I understand it, you can walk up to the ticket office and buy a ticket for a game without handing over any details. It's 2013, we should have a database of everyone who has bought tickets, merchandise etc.

All this talk of gloryhunters - for the record, I got 6 tickets today. 2 will go to 2 people who's only other game this season was the Barcelona home game and 4 will go to people who have not been to a game this season.

So you think Celtic should have a sense of duty to spend time and money to build a database to look after regulars then when you have tickets you chose to give them to non-regulars?

Erm no! A club/business the size of Celtic should have a database of everyone that buys from them - it allows them to build up a profile of each supporter/customer which in turn allows them to target certain sections when relevant, for example to market other services from the clubs partners. It is 2013!
