Shouldn't be looking for anymore than 2 players this window, unless players are sold or offloaded. I would like to see a defensive player come in either LB or CB and then an attacking midfielder with flair someone who gives us something a little different against packed defences.

All this pish from C Green about a share issue doesnt even cover what Celtic have earned in Champ Lge money this season:smiley-laughing002: we are swimming in money.

as long as we spend some of it on a couple of decent players this could be the diff in going for the treble and giving juve a good go

We're certainly not rolling in money, despite the big sums of money available in the champions league. Player/staff wages, running the club, tax(!) etc. All things considers, it could go towards one or two players but the rest should be kept in the pot for youth/club development. End of the day the financial climate is getting worse and who knows the pitfalls around the corner with flakey TV deals etc.

These games sold out, they should both be £2 million.

Spot on Sween! I would still like us to go after GMS, but other than that, I'm not fussed on new recruits as long as we maximise our earning potential regarding Hooper, Wanyama and co, as you say.

Not full sell outs due to UEFA regulations and the cost of opening the stadium. Policing, stewards etc.

We may well recieve a good sum for our european run this season but next season West ham, swansea, wigan ect are going to get 60M with the new tv deal. The serious money is to found in the premier league therefore its going to make it next to impossible to keep a hold of our better players.* i know.

It really is, clubs that could never compete in Europe and are nothing in size compared to us get that money

There is no 2.5-3m player that you know of but i'm sure that there are many who could come in and improve our team. I watch a fair bit of the ekstraklasa and the polish national team and milik the lad who went to leverkusen would have improved our team and i think he went for less than 3m. Obviously we can no longer get him but thats just an example of the talent that can be bought relatively cheaply. We won't be spending big on any players and even if we did it wouldn't mean that they were better. Would you really be more convinced by a player if he cost 5m as opposed to 3m? You say we should be looking to add world class players but in some cases these players cost more than our entire champions league windfall. For example dortmund added marco reus for 17m euro and juventus bought 50 % of giovinco for 11m. These are true world class players and we simply cannot afford them. We have to be the stage before these teams get them. Reus was picked up for peanuts by monchengladbach and giovinco was signed by parma for 3m after he had not made the breakthrough at juve. This is our only chance of getting world class players, develop them ourselves or buy them young and then sell them on for massive profits.

I would definitely prefer proper steals from the Polish league than the daylight robbery from the English leagues some have called for on here.

Well incase you didn't notice mate we signed a little fellow called Hooper who scores every now and again, meanwhile Lewandoski plays for one of the biggest teams in the world, in one of the best stadiums in the world, also in the last 16 of the best competition in the world, and would cost more than 25 million pounds.

But yeah, he's a good shout.

He means when Lewandowski was playing for Lech Poznań and still within our price range.

I want to see us looking at Eastern Europe. Some very good players there.

Hopefully spend some of it in the next few weeks on a player who gives that bit spark and creativity.

He obviously meant Lewandowski when he was still in Poland.

And if we'd signed some unkown Pole from an obscure league in a foreign land miles away, Lennon and the board would have been castigated by many of our stupid fans for not going for a proven British goalscorer just a few hours down south...

it goes round in circles bhoys. What we're doing is fine and there's no point focussing on the (very few) negatives or might-have-beens.
