£1,660,000 for reaching the play-offs. £4,180,000 for group stage qualification. £446,200 per game in the group stages, just for completing the fixture. £7,888,000 (at least) in TV money. £788,000 per victory (x3) and £394,000 for a draw. Gate money from 10 European games (very close to a full house for every game).

    Those are official UEFA figures.

Add to that sponsorship money. Sponsorship bonuses. Champions League merchandise. 125th anniversary merchandise. 3 new kits. The sale of Ki.

I don't know where you got the £10-12m figure but it's way off even with outgoings and extra running costs at the club. Obviously we'll see very little of it but we've made * loads of money this season.

I was in the superstore yesterday around 1pm and it was absolutely full of Spartak fans buying merchandise and that was a travelling support of a team with nothing to play for so all that adds up.

:50: well said, some sense has been spoken.

Why do people think spending millions on players and wages is the answer?? team needs investing, Lawell will keep all that, :blahblah1:blahblah1 Just look at City, spent 200 million and didnt win one game in the CL and Chelsea.

Our club is extremly well run and financially stable with a good squad and great youth system and currently probs in the top 16 of clubs in the world.

This money helps us not to worry about the financial side as much. Would be stupid to go spending massive amounts on players just for the sake of it.

Much better to do it this way as we have now, buy low, sell high, enjoy the ride in between.

When people talk about money being re-invested into the team.

Why change what seems to be working currently?:39:

    Why not?

    Just in bonus money alone...

£1.7million for making the play-off round
£6.95million for reaching the Group Stage
£2.83million in Group Stage Win/Draw bonuses
£2.83million again for reaching the Last 16

So exluding everything bar bonus money, we've already guarenteed £14.31million. The last time A Scottish Club was in it they got £7.53million in TV Money which will only have increased, considering the TV Pool back then was only £275million and is now £330million. So even if its only £8million thats £22.3million just from UEFA. Then there is the ticket sales of 4 home games at say an average crowd of 57,000 at £30 a ticket = £6.84million(thats conservative prices too, the average ticket price is probably closer to £34). Plus the qualifying stage (a lot of fans got the first one on the season ticket but about 60,000 tickets were sold at say an average price of £18) thats also £1.08million. So about £7.92million in ticket sales added to the atleast £22.3million from UEFA is over £30million, its not even arguable.

So your prediction is absolutley miles away.

To show how far off you were. The last time we were in it 08/09 season, we got £10.03million off UEFA for Bonuses and TV money, and that season we only picked up 4 points of less Win/Draw bonus money than they have now, no play-off bonus money, no Last 16 bonus money and the TV Pool was £110million less than it is now.

The money talk becomes more important when you hear about the economic troubles that are beginning to afflict big leagues like Spain, Italy and hopefully at some point England.

In the next few years we could really reap huge benefits from being a prudently run club with no big debt, regular CL money and if necessary selling big players.
