Was just calculating it there... This is what I predict we have/will make from playing in Europe this season.

    Qualifiers

Helsinki - £200k in ticket sales and TV
Helsingborgs £1.2million in ticket sales and TV
    Bonus Money £1.7million
    TOTAL around £3.1million

    Group Stage

Benfica - £1.87million in ticket sales
Barcelona - £2million in ticket sales
Spartak - £2million in ticket sales
    Bonus Money £9.8million
    TOTAL around £15.67million

    Last 16
Match - £2million+ in ticket sales
    Bonus Money £2.83million
    TOTAL around £5million

    TV Money around £8-11million

    TOTAL OVERALL around £32.7million

Just think of that money and then imagine if Helsinki had knocked us out of Europe in that first tie, we'd have only got £400k from Europe this season :56: about 82 x less money.

We have even brought in more than that too when you add in the additional Food and Drink sales at the games, Programmes sales and all the merchandise thats come out like hats, t-shirts, keyrings, mugs, flags, scarves(4 different ones), jacket and the CL badges that you get printed onto kits. Mabe £250k from that to round it up to £33million. Then id also guess Nike and Tennants will give us bonus sponsorship money for reaching the CL and then more for reaching the Last 16.

The Club will be rich as * this year, taking that into consideration plus the £6.2million sale of Ki and the release of 3 new strips, a home, the anniversary and the away also the "Lennon jacket" has been one of the best selling bits of merchandise theres been that isnt a top and you also have the other 125th anniversary stuff. Will certainly be a record breaking year for Turnover at the Club. The record annual Turnover for us was £75.2million in the 2006/07 season.

That's an amazing amount of money to be earning in one season.

:smiley-laughing002: This was my immediate thought. Board of directors will be laughing, we'll be continuing to operate like a team on the brink...

What don't you people understand about "we don't have any money" and "if we spend money we will go bankrupt" !?!?!

Cheers ILTC! The money will be invested in wages more than transfer fees probably.

Astonishing amount of money for a Scottish team to make over a year, this is exactly why we need to be here every year. When you see us amount this amount of bank notes makes you wonder if deadco had made it into the group stages last year, would they still be Rangers?..

We don't need any major investment in the team right now unless we lose 2-3 players in January. Neil Lennons main objective now is to win the league and push our next European opponents as far as possible. I'd like to see a natural winger come in, we still lack a bit creativity and flair, These guys don't come cheap and if we do sign anyone this must be a priority.

Hail Hail still in Europe next year

That should be more than enough based on our current model.

Who cares? The team will barely see any benefit from it anyway.

Ohhh but we are such a financially stable team, not in a penny of debt! It's * amazing!!!

Our financial model is built on Champions League participation, without it and the huns in the SPL we run at a loss.

That isn't pure liquid assets we are able to invest back into the playing squad. In fact the vast majority of the money will allow us to stay on an even keel.

    And lets not forget....

Matchday expenses like; Stewarding, Policing, appearance fees and win bonuses, extra ground staff man-hours, the cost of heating the pitch for midweek, the cost of the food and drink we sell, the manufacturing costs of the merchandise.... the list is endless.

Some of the comments on here are naive at best. Yes we have got all that money in (i don't believe its that amount for a minute) but we have to shell out quite a lot too.
Moaning about not reinvesting when it's being used to keep us afloat is absurd.

P.S the CL money is not paid out until the end of the season. And i would be surprised if it was much more than £10-12million in total.

    ^^^This!

Remember that a 'normal' year without CL group-stage money is pretty much seen as a financial disaster. Then consider that the next few seasons will not be 'normal' years as we have lost the 4 (at least) games against the great-unwashed, so there's a £5 million (or whatever) gap to fill each season straight away.

Let's be joyous, but let's also keep our sensible heads on bhoys! We haven't just won the lottery!

Forgive me for not taking the negative slant on things as I'm still absolutely * buzzing.

It feels great to be the only show in town in Scotland.
