Id probably play that, although youd want Mulgrew on for his set peices but I think we need Lassad on for movement and creativity and to run at players.

Think Lennon will pick this though

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Wilson Matthews
    Kayal
    Brown Ledley Mulgrew
    Samaras
    Hooper

I really hope we don't play with 4 CM (well three and Mulgrew...) - no width at all. I don't like Mulgrew playing in midfield, especially in Europe - hence the back 3, but his set-pieces are vital. Lassad has to start. If we're dropping anyone it should be Hooper or Broony. Neither are at full fitness and Hooper's been poor lately.

3 at the back with one of them pushing into midfield ? Samaras as a left wing back? Are you * insane? :56:

I'd put him on the bench, wouldn't start him though.

Although its a risk id be delighted if Lennon played Mulgrew at left-back. We need Mulgrew on but I also think we need Lassad on and if Kayal, Brown, Ledley, Lassad, Samaras and Hooper are all playing he can only play left-back.

Spartak dont have any pacey right sided players either. McGeady im 99% sure is still injured and he basically plays every game for them they dont have another guy. Their back-up wide players are more playmakers who arent that quick like Jurado, Ananidze and Bilyaletdinov and they mostly play nearer the left and their only other wide player is a left-footed player who only plays on the left Kombarov.

Ive not got a clue how Spartak will line up but id guess

    Dikan
    Makeyev Suchy Pereja Kombarov
    De Zeeuw Kallstrom
    Ananidze Ari Jurado
    Dzubya

We should get away with Mulgrew.

I seen McGeady made his comeback as a sub at the weekend so he might start but I doubt it since he was out for about 2 month.

thats why i put him in at left back as it frees up a place further up the park, and izzaguire is not a match winner mulgrew can be,

Even though he is a left back, it is his worst position imo.

I understand your thinking behind the freekicks and corners.

Im sure Lennon will play him for that reason but don't think it will be at left back.

I actually think he might. Mulgrew is only ever caused a problem when he comes up against a quick winger, who can beat him for pace or stop him going forward because he will get done with balls in behind but if hes not hes fine and Spartak unless they start a half fit McGeady whos only played 30 minutes of football in 2 month dont have a guy with pace to play there.

Lennon will know better than me as im not sure whos injured or suspended for Spartak but if there team is

    Dikan
    Kombarov Suchy Pereja Makeyev
    De Zeeuw Kallstrom Kombarov
    Ari Ananidze
    Dzubya

Then they dont have much pace in their team only Kombarov on the left and Ari is quite quick but not that fast.

However if they lined up with

    Dikan
    Kombarov Suchy Pereja Makeyev
    Carioca Kallstrom
    McGeady Ari Kombarov
    Emenike

Then you wouldnt want to play Mulgrew left back as that would be a really quick counter attacking team. But as far as im aware McGeadys been injured so shouldnt start, Emenike is out of favour and Carioca is either injured or not playing.

De Zeeuw, Ananidze and Dzubya seem to be in favour and we'd rather they played than Carioca, McGeady/Jurado and Emenike/Welliton.

The likelihood is a point should be enough and with spartak having nothing to play for I can't see us losing.

not confident about the game though, reckon it will be nervy, we cant bottle it.
