    I'm not picky.
I'm all for squad rotation and it's the right thing that Lennon rested players for the match against Moscow on Wednesday.

The fringe players should be doing all they can to impress Lennon so they can break into the team, but it just seems to be that any time a lot are given the chance they don't take it.

He was just saying that atmosphere is important. He wasn't insulting you personally. I am sure you tried your best to get the team going.

lets not turn this into whos a bigger Celtic fan.

Simple fact of the matter is weather Celtic are playing in front of 10 people or 60,000 people or whoever is wearing the hoops they should be beating a mob like Arbroath.

First time I've missed a home game in 5 years, probably a good thing that I was working by the sounds of it

Completely agree. Today was perplexing. I have been one of the most vocal advocates of near-total squad rotation on this forum and yet even I was shocked by the outcome.

you blamed there being no atmosphere as to why the team did not perform well, well i was there so i see that as aimed at me,if you nead the atmosphere to perform you should not be playing for celtic, yes its always great when we have a full house and everything goes well, but to say todays game was not won as there was not a good enough atmosphere in order for the team to perform is wrong

I see where you're coming from in a way. If the fans create an atmosphere then it can spur the players on to get a result and if the players are spurred on then it gets the crowd going more. It's a cycle.

It can also be a vicious cycle, though, because it can be if there's no atmosphere then it can maybe get at the players, which can have an opposite effect on them resulting in the crowd being more subdued.

While I can see what you mean (if what I was saying above is correct :icon_mrgreen:) the players really should have got the job done today. It could be psychological though - players getting it in their head thinking "ach, it's only Arbroath - this will be a dawdle", thinking the match is already won, which is ALWAYS a mistake. It's matches like these that the players fighting to get into the first team should grasp with both hands.

I think this it's more frustrating to be honest, especially for Lennon. He gives players the chance to show what they can do and what they are capable of so gives them a chance to show it and they don't do anything.

Maybe it's just me but I thought that the players who are fighting to get a shout would be like "Right, I've been given the chance here so I'll show the boss what I can do".

    Maybe I'm just over-simplifying things though :52:

    Yes you've got it:50:

The team were not up for it, but they should be. But if the crowd had produced a bit of an atmo the players might have went on to win thats all i'm saying.
    And nobody was being snide......

Really had to make an effort to go to Celtic Park today and then they play like that, complete and utter pish and starting to get sick of it now. There were no excuses at all for today, tiredness, injuries etc, no. We drew when we should have won comfortably.
I don't care if we pump Spartak 5-0 midweek, domestically our home form is still a huge problem that Lennon needs to sort. Raging.

ha, No disrepesct too Arbroath but they are what they are, a second division team, Id be dissapointed if our NEXT GEN team didnt beat them too be honest.

Our home form is just not good enough for what ever reason, its a bit worrying.
