Sad to hear it, it's a shame that things haven't worked out well for them this season.

I hope they don't accept it.

When the going gets tough, O'Neill gets on his bike.

    Opportunist! :smiley-laughing002:

    I'd say MON's going nowhere - yet.

Sunderland would be foolish to accept his resignation.

Could be wrong, as we don't know the full circmstances, but I'm reading this as an extreme measure to jolt the players into action...

That would be fantastic... can't see it happening though, unfortunately.

Sunderland Press chief Louise Wanless tells me rumours Martin O'Neill has offered to quit are ”absolute rubbish” & should be ignored #SAFC

Seems bollocks , no idea why the * the espn panel was talking about this then.

Probably for the best he leaves Sunderland, he's done kack all for years. Other than signing past-it average players at Villa, now spending tons on areas of his team that weren't needed

He left Celtic to look after his ill wife. I agree though, he has done nothing of note since leaving us.

That was the official line - something I'm still of the opinion that he used to his own favour.

    Just my opinion.

I don`t agree he has done nothing of note. He did a fantastic job at Villa. Aye, he spent quite a bit of money but he also brought quite a bit in. He had that Villa team challenging at the top of the table and should also have had a League cup if it weren`t for pishing refereeing in the final against United, suprise surprise. But he just hasn`t got it going with Sunderland yet

Family are more important than football. MON's wife was really ill, no hidden agenda. Shame on you for doubting! What kind of Celtic fan would cast doubts about the integrity of a great Celtic manager. Probably not just my opinion.

I don't particularly care Dopey in all honesty.

The same way he said he was taking out 2 years to look after his wife (who I've no doubt was ill) - then was back in about what.....7 months?
