Very harsh to pick on Hooper after this, rushed back in from injury, it's more Lenny's fault to have risked him and Broony. Kayal came on and did much better than Brown.

im a bit confused about how it could it end up

because benfice have better results against us would that put them through if we both won our next game? or would it come down to goal difference?

Disappointing. Hopefully Barca are at their best in two weeks despite being through.

When we all seen the draw the spartak one at home was the one that would decide if went through so nothing new.

Hooper was unfit and Watt should have been on alot earlier for him to give us an out ball.

Disappointing is the main word for tonight. We did well to score from the set piece but our slack defending and lack of composure in midfield was always going to make it a difficult night. Ledley, Hooper and Brown all look to be carrying niggling injuries. Without making excuses, that would have an effect on their performances. Samaras was doubled up on every time he got the ball which made it difficult for him.

Benfica's physicality and directness caused us a lot of problems tonight and we just didn't look up to task. Losing Wanyama for Spartak is a big blow but hopefully we can still get a win and qualify.

ambrose and brown were poot tonight, also hooper non-existent.

But also we should see the positive sides, some players had a good game and if it would have finished 1-1 the players would look much better

    Oh well. Off to bed.

Confident we can beat Spartak at home. Not sure about the Barca reserves. Surely resting so many players isn't allowed?

All of a sudden I'm not too hopefull of going through, in recent seasons I can remember them losing on the final match day to both Rubin and to shakhtar, both of those home games.

Tough night at the office for the lads ! We'll bounce back in 2 week I'm sure on it ! Positives - FF Superb again ! Kelvin Wilson slip in concentration for the goal but turning into a proper leader for us ! Keeps improving and bold to say but future celtic captain ? What your thoughts ?

Ah well. The odds are nevertheless in our favour what was us playing Spartak at home and Benfica having to play Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

That was the sort of cowed performance I would have expect us to put in against Barca, not Benfica. A very subdued team today.

Feel like * after that. Can't see us going through now. Barcelona will lie down to Benfica as they've already topped the group and I can't see us beating Spartak if we play like that. No attack whatsoever, poor defence. Bye bye last 16.

Gutted, very pleased with Kayals performance, him, Wilson and Forster I have nothing but praise for. The rest, the less said the better. Why does Tony not deserve a start in these games, over hooper? I know hooper is just back from injury, and he is hardly going to tell lenny naw dont play me pick watt but fs tony deserves to start these games.

    Never the easy way

No denying we were poor....we didn't deserve anything for the game tonight.

Still a good chance that we will go through, if not....we have the Europa League which at the start of the season I would have bit your hand off for.
