Why are so many people saying they were more confident off getting a win against Barca than this mob? It's easy to say that now that we beat Barca,Benfica sold their 3 best players in the summer, they were no great shakes when they came to Paradise and we should have won that game.Im confident of a win tonight, all the pressure is on them.

Barcelona play 1 way and 1 way only, we applied a set solution to the problem they provided us.

Benfica won't pass backwards and forwards until they find space for a through ball, they will get it down the wings and get it into the box if that's what it takes.

In that respect this is very much a different problem added to the fact they are a wounded animal and at home, I can see where folk are coming from when they say they are less confident. Me personally I didn't think we'd beat Barca and I don't think we'll beat Benfica either :56:

If Aimar is out then it's a massive blow for them. He was the one person that i thought was capable of cutting us open at Parkhead if we didn't close him down. Thankfully Brown was constantly on him all night and we stopped him playing. I thought they were quite ordinary at Parkhead if i'm honest. I know it's a totally different game with it being in Lisbon but we have certainly got nothing to fear. Another performance like any other we have given so far in the competition would see us through tonight IMO.

Honestly do not know whether to be confident or * scared of this game.

Away from CP - well.......you know! Although our away form would suggest that we are actually a very strong team of late :icon_mrgreen:

If Aimar is out - then I'm ecstatic. He is most definitely one of their most creative outlets and can most certainly do the damage against us if we were to back off him.

It's going to take another controlled and tactically-sound game from Celtic tonight to come away with anything. I hope that the players are not too over-confident and cocky.....and bring us supporters back with an early Christmas present of last 16 qualification with a game to spare (who in their right mind would have thought that could be a case when this draw was made :56:)

    Barca game is on before ours - think it's a 5.15 k/o?

I'll be watching that game - if Barca win then at least we are definitely guaranteed European football after Christmas in the Europa League :50:

Barca will be looking to bounce back after their defeat against us.

I genuinely cannot see anything but a Barca win.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon

Think it's bang on 5 mate.

Just for those of you who don't want to miss Lionel scoring (hopefully) his first 2 goals, thus guaranteeing Euro fitba after Christmas!:icon_mrgreen:

Can't see us getting anything from the game tonight, will be a totally different game to the barca one. We will have more of the ball, but will have more balls coming into our box.

We`ll get beat if we sit back and defend tonight. I have no doubt about that. We don`t need to come out all guns blazing but we must not sit back imo

McGeady is injured along with a host of others from Spartak including all their goalkeepers.

Definately this, unlike barca, benfica will chuck the ball in the box from anywhere and in Cardozo they have an absolute machine who will get on the end of a lot of it. If we air back and try and soak up pressure for the whole game we will probably get beat
