Don't think my nerves could take a deciding Spartak game.

question is do we sit back for a draw and play like we did against barca soaking up pressure and hitting on the counter..?

or do we go at them which i think is easier said than done benfica are no mugs and this will be a high tempo game

in which we will prob see very little of the ball

id take a draw now if we had the chance, but are recent euro form says no we can get the win and leave the moscow game for a big party at pardise

Cannot wait for this! I have a wee hunch we will sneak another away win.

Good league result coming into the game also.

    I would line up

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Wilson Matthews
    Brown Wanyama Ledley Mulgrew
    Commons
    Samaras

I think Hooper is the 1 of 3 struggling from Brown, Himself and Ledley.

I do feel that Mulgrew will play because of his delivery although I would rather Kayal in the middle with Ledley pushed left.

1 - 0 Celtic Samaras with the goal!

Must be honest and say I fear the worse for tonight, I think it will come down to a nerve racking last game in paradise against Spartak.

The positive we can take out of tonight is we will almost certainly be guaranteed European football after Christmas, I can't see anything else happen than a Barca win in Moscow they will be fired up to bounce back from there defeat in Paradise. European football after Christmas in itself will be a massive achievement. This Celtic team have come on leaps and bounds this season because I don't think Spartak and certainly Benfica are any mugs at all.

Hope I'm wrong and we can see it through to the last 16 tonight and Lenny's Lions end the night as Lenny's "Lisbon" Lions :icon_mrgreen:

    COYBIG! :celt_2::shamrock:

Was up at the crack of dawn as expected, foooking buzzing.

We have done a great job of soaking up pressure and hitting teams on the counter, it's a must win game for Benfica so it could be the same case again for us tonight. I think it's key we press them very well, our tempo will be key as well. I think we can play a bit more against this mob when we're in possession. It's going to be a tough one and honestly, I think it could be a draw.

Hoping for the best though obviously, COYBIG!

I might as well take the day off on Champions League nights, I spend the entire day on here and scouring the net for team news etc... :56:

Only bad thing about them is the fact they don't kick off until quarter to 8 but at least we have the Barca match to watch in preparation tonight!

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Will be watching Barca at 5, drink in hand......fingers crossed that goes well, and takes a slight burden of the guys knowing that the worst-case scenario is literally impossible. Help them concentrate on the task in hand even further...only natural a bit of an eye would be on that result.

I fear the worst tonight, admittedly. Result against Porto a bad sign they are clicking in to form at the right time.

Same here mate, I've done about 40 minutes work and spent the rest of the time reading about Celtic. I'm thinking there's a good chance of getting away early and heading to the pub, I've only hinted about 5 times already and it's not even 11 yet. Thank * the boss is a tim.

I'm not as confident as I was against Barca about this. As long as we've got it in our own hands against Spartak I'll be happy enough.

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Wilson Mulgrew
    Wanyama Ledley
    Brown Commons Samaras
    Hooper

Hit them hard and fast, from the very first minute.
