Also, there was an article where Lennon mentioned he was able to run in to Messi (amongst others) after the match, and how he was humble and an example in defeat. He thought we were lucky, boo * hoo.

Of course we had a little bit of luck. We brought a player off the bench to score the winning goal who cost £50k. They brought over £100m of talent of their bench, never mind the £500m or so talent they had on the pitch.

When an underdog beats the favourite they always have to run their luck a bit. That doesnt mean it isnt deserved, it just means you need to get the breaks at the right time. Im sure if we were £200m+ in debt after bankrolling a dream team, and Barca had a net spend of zero for 5 years or so, it wouldnt be long before they needed a bit of luck to beat us.

In any case, I dont see why anyone cares.

Not to mention wee Pedro as well. Class in defeat, what he said about nobody would want to draw us, our fans and the praise he heaped on big Fraser were superb.

The fact that Barca only led us for about 5 seconds over the two games should show the likes of Messi and that wee * Alba especially, that we carried out our game plan to perfection at CP and 99.9999999% perfection at the Nou Camp. Nothing lucky about getting your tactics spot on and taking advantage of mistakes when they arise. Not to mention the fact they we're lucky not to play 70 mins with 10 men and also not to have Mascherano off for his last ditch attempt on wee Tony, who he couldn't handle.

Don't bad mouth Barca or Messi

    :55:

    Fanboys will get upset.

Lennon got his tactics, selection and substitutions spot on. To call us lucky is attempting to take the shine of a great night for him and every player who worked their * off for that victory.

There may have been a bit of luck involved but why is there no praise for Lennon and his team carrying out exact instructions, when a team like barca gets the ball you have no choice but to sit back and defend, which is as much a part of football, as attacking is, Song was *, Messi was kept quiet, and Alba was stopped from getting into the box most opportunities, that's a well constructed gameplan.

This was by far over the two legs the best defensive display i have seen from any celtic team in 40 plus years of supporting them. But it was'nt only the defense it was the disipline from the midfield and the strikers to defend from the front. You only need to look at fouls/yellow cards given agianst and it was more or less the same as Barcelona's if that had been MON's team you could have been certain of at least one sending of,a shed load of yellow cards, numerous fouls and free kicks agianst in horrible situations.Barcelona cannot really complain as they did'nt have a plan b not that they need it most of the time, they just came up agianst a team that had a better game plan to counter theirs.

Did anyone not think Xavi's girlie attempt at trying to cut out Foster's kick was quite amusing. Its the kind of thing your wife/girlfriend might do if you were pinging a fourty yard pass to her in the park.

    Cesc Fàbregas:

“There is no such thing as injustice or justice in football. You have to win and that’s it. We lacked depth, we had our chances and they scored on the chances they had.”

“We have to continue with our style of play, we’re very pleased with the season that we’re having.”

“We have two games left and we’ll try to win them.”

    Jordi Alba

“If we hadn’t had the chances we created I wouldn’t be leaving with the feeling I have, but it’s time to focus on our next match.”

“We’re coming up against teams that close themselves off at the back and we’re finding it difficult to get into the opposing team’s area, but we’re not worried about it.”

“The match allowed for the right and left backs to push forward. Each day I’m feeling better and more comfortable when I go forward.”

“They created chances on set pieces because they know we’re not a very tall team, but we also created a lot of chances but their keeper was brilliant.”

    Marc Bartra

“We didn’t score from the chances we created, they were very effective; that’s what was in their favour.”

“We have to move on and keep on working. We have to be optimistic knowing that we’re group leaders.”

These quotes are from the Barca website.

Not being bitter or anything, but I agree with this.

I can take constructive criticism from the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, but Alex Song? I am left to wonder what he actually done at Arsenal to attract the attention from Barcelona and justify the price tag that he has over his head. Wanyama * all over him and he cost us £900,000.

Always thought he would be a bit of a whinger but he's spot on. We won fair and square, we could have scored when Mascherano brought Watt down at the edge of the box. They could have ended the match with 9 men.

Or they could have scored a few more.

A shitebag referee and a great defensive display... no luck, just hard work.

The usuall scottish papers taking * out of context.

That's why i don't buy or take note of any of their articles

When was the last time a scottish paper actually confirmed one of the players we were going to sign in transfer windows?

THEY MAKE * UP or take it out of context to suit themselves:38:
