After the Supercup defeat they stayed on the park to clap Madrid as they lifted cup, whilst taking abuse from the Madridistas. Something which Real didn't do the year before. But you're right they can't take defeat.

None of those teams were lifting a cup after a game. It's not like they all stormed down the tunnel refusing to shake hands.

Should they stay on and clap every team that defeats them? No other team does that.

Jordi Alba and Alex Song also calling us lucky and having a moan about how we played...................

Jordi Alba: Barcelona were the only side who tried to play football at Parkhead

9 Nov 2012 08:10 BARCA ace Alba claims Celtic will have to change their style if they are to go any further in the Champions League - despite Neil Lennon's men beating them fair and square.

Jordi Alba netted a last gasp winner in the Nou Camp but was not so lucky in Glasgow on Wednesday night

BARCELONA are renowned for silky soccer not sour grapes.
That’s due to the fact a defeat for the Catalans is as rare as a stray Lionel Messi pass.
But after the Spanish giants were humbled by Celtic on Wednesday night their superstars were left feeling bitter.
Tito Vilanova’s aces felt they controlled the Champions League clash and didn’t deserve to suffer a 2-1 deficit courtesy of goals from Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt.
Barca full-back Jordi Alba left the east end of Glasgow angry they hadn’t taken care of Neil Lennon’s side and progressed to the last 16 of the competition.
In a typically un-Barcelona style the 23-year-old had a pop at the SPL champions for how they went about their business in securing the victory.
Alba rated the atmosphere as the best he has played in but reluctantly congratulated Celtic and warned Lennon’s men they’ll have to change their approach against Benfica and Spartak Moscow if they want to follow Barca into the knock-out stage.
He said: “I am really angry about the scoreline.
“I think that a draw would have been a fairer result and justice for Barcelona.
“Celtic didn’t play normal football, they searched for a counter-attack and looked to surprise us.
“To play against a team like that is always complicated and the goals they scored came from errors in our own defence. We accept that.
“But if you actually analyse the match Barcelona were the only team who tried to play football in Glasgow.
“The luck was on Celtic’s side on Wednesday night.

“No one at Barca expected us to lose but this happens in football sometimes and we have to accept the result.
“But if the Scots hope to make the next round of the Champions League they’ll need to change their style against Benfica in Lisbon.
“I don’t think you can operate that system in every game and obtain success.
“The atmosphere at Celtic Park was incredible – for me the best I’ve experienced in every aspect.
“It was just painful for me to have to leave that stadium angered by a defeat.”
While Alba believes Celtic were fortunate to get the points his team-mate Alex Song was lucky not to receive a red card in the second half.
The ex-Arsenal star clattered into Hoops striker Miku from behind.
And despite being on a yellow card, Dutch ref Bjorn Kuipers showed leniency by not sending him off – and minutes later Song was substituted.
Incredibly, Song claims Celtic haven’t improved since he last played against them for the Gunners three years ago.
And he was left unimpressed by their “ultra-defensive” ploy against the Catalans.
Song did, however, single out hero keeper Fraser Forster for special praise after he denied the La Liga outfit with a string of terrific saves.
He said: “I don’t think Celtic are too much better now than they were when I was at Arsenal. Against us they decided to play ultra-defensive football.
“They tried it in the Nou Camp and it didn’t work but they managed a unique result in Glasgow.
“Barca were the team that deserved the victory on Wednesday night but we failed at the back by losing the two goals. That’s our responsibility and apart from that they didn’t cause us any danger.
“The Celtic keeper was a star for them and he prevented us from scoring more goals.
“Leo Messi’s goal arrived too late for us. If we had
made it 2-1 with 15 minutes to go I think it would have been possible for us to go on to win the game.”
Celtic inflicted Barca’s first defeat of the season but it shouldn’t prevent the Spanish side finishing top of their section and sealing a place in the last 16.
Song is adamant Celtic’s performance won’t derail their own bid for qualification but agreed with Alba and warned Lennon’s troops if they play like that against Benfica they’ll come unstuck.
Song said: “This defeat hasn’t damaged us in terms of
qualification. I’m totally convinced Barca will reach the next stage as group winners.
“The chances for Celtic? If they play the same system in Portugal for their next game I think they’ll concede goals because they can’t be that lucky again.
“I think they’ll need to change if they want to progress.”
While Alba and Song lamented the shock defeat, Brazilian defender Dani Alves offered no excuses for Vilanova’s side and urged his team-mates to up their game for their next outing in Group G – a trip to Moscow to face Spartak.
He believes they did everything they could to beat Celtic but praised the SPL team’s defensive unit for shutting out Messi and Co.
Alves said: “The defeat to Celtic is a big blow to us because I didn’t believe we could be beaten in Glasgow.
“We worked to our limit and tried everything but didn’t get the slice of luck we needed.
“It was difficult to play against them but Barca have no excuses. In other matches, we’ve created the same kind of opportunities and scored goals.
“Celtic battled for the victory and it’s impossible for us to change the result.
“Our main objective is qualification so we must concentrate on Moscow now – and forget about Celtic.”

I was quite chilled out about this at first but it's starting to irritate me now. Dry yer * eyes Barca, you got beat fair and square!

6. Yea we had a really good game.....is that luck? No....we have some very good players and we always step it up a notch at home in the Champions League.

"Luck" is just a word banded about that masks the truth....were we lucky with the 2nd goal? Or did one of their players just make a mistake and we took the chance very well.

Should they have finished with 11 men? No, Song and Mascherano should have been sent off.

Are we lucky that Pique, Puyol and Busquets weren't playing? No, Izzy, Hooper or Brown weren't either so we'll call that even.

It's the fact that he was far from gracious in defeat is what annoys me.....it could all be true.....but he sounds like a *, making excuses for the fact that a team with a fraction of the budget got the better of them.

* off Barcelona and go pay your debts.

This is starting to irritate me now. Just because it was a defensive performance doesn't mean we didn't try to play football. Unlike teams such as Chelsea and rangers, we actually DID try to play football, it's just unfortunate for us that the quality Barcelona have meant that we weren't all that successful. Whether or not Barca deserved the result, the last thing we were is lucky because we defended very well and were very disciplined. As Jamie Redknapp said, it wasn't desperate defending, diving in all the time and flinging your leg at everything. It was composed, controlled and organised. We deserved the win. Had Barca won I would probably be saying they deserved it as well, but the fact is they didn't do enough with the possession they had. There have been plenty of instances in the SPL where we've dropped points despite having the bulk of possession and 20+ shots at goal, yet the overriding reaction in these instances from our fans is anger and disappointment for not doing enough. We tend to accept that we didn't deserve to win these games, angry as we are about it. It's the same thing here. Yes they controlled the game and had lots of chances, but that doesn't mean they deserved the win, because our win was down to a sensational performance, not luck.

Messi........ Rofl dude. Our fans and club showed BARCA the maximum amount of respect possible I believe. The least Messi in particular and the rest of these blokes could do is show us the respect by saying that we deserved the win. ANY club that comes 2-1 up against the Catalan giant deserves massive credit.

Have to laugh at Song hopping on the crybaby bandwagon, he really is failing to deceive at a club like Barcelona.

Wanyama is the player Song wishes he was.

Got to laugh at Alba saying we have to change our style :56: Well Jordi wasn't it your own team who couldn't change their style against us and you lost? Continually trying and failing to walk the ball into the net got you nowhere whilst we defended properly and were deadly in attack when we got our chances.

As for Alex Song, oh please! Three times we broke with the ball near you and 3 times your only answer was to bring down the Celtic player, you were * clueless.

I love Messi and Barcelona. You cannot deny that there was ahint of luck about it. They hit the post and bar, hit the post at the Nou Camp. If it wasn't for Forster we might have lost both games. But there is no way you can take anything away from our players, Xavi, Iniesta and Pique have all mentioned that. Wonderful effort, Wonderful win.

Exactly mate, it is suicide to go all out against Barcelona the only team that has a chance to do that is Madrid and those games always finish high scoring, because they have the quality. We went out with a game plan and executed it. If anything Barcelona force teams into playing like that with their constant passing around the box. Also whenever we get possession there are 3 players on us straight away. We had no choice. But when we got the chance to break we kept the ball on the ground and went at them... you don't see that often.

By your logic every underdog that beats the favourite is lucky

Hitting the woodwork is part of the game, it's not luck that causes it, it's an inaccurate shot that does, unless the ball happens to take a freak bounce on the way to goal which in this case it didn't. Having a good goalkeeper isn't down to luck either, nor is it luck that said goalkeeper pulls off fantastic saves, that's what he's paid a large salary to do. Next you'll be telling us we were lucky because our players were taller like midget baws Messi said :icon_mrgreen:

So no, there wasn't a hint of luck about it, just a well executed game plan against a team that couldn't put the ball in the net and can't defend properly.

16. Luck? Please.
It's amusing tho Leo, tell me more.

Sounds like a sore loser.
Still, we have WANYAMA and WATT so who needs a sore loser anyway ;-)

Aye, well next time we meet we'll grow wee and open up the defence if that suits better.

Like telling an injured middle weight he's up against a fighting-fit Klitschko but he's got to keep his gloves down and let him hit him because Klitschko prefers to whip people real good and your just lucky he's even tolerating your presence.

Jesus * Christ, let's grow some thicker skin maybe? Have you never called a team lucky after losing? This stuff genuinely never bothers me even when it was Smith or something calling us lucky after a match. There's no 12-page long thread on Fabregas for saying there's no deserved results in football, the team that wins wins and it's that simple. Most professional athletes are bad losers, so am I, it doesn't make them evil or disrespectful.
