BUBBLING Lionel Messi has spat the dummy after branding Celtic’s win against Barcelona “lucky”.

The Argentine cry baby – who became a dad for the first time last week when his son Thiago was born – threw the toys out of the pram after his side’s 2-1 Champions League loss in Glasgow.

Messi kept a dummy in his sock at Parkhead but failed to produce it even when he scored Barca’s injury-time consolation.

Instead he had a swipe at Celtic by accusing them of scoring their first goal from a corner simply because they were bigger than Tito Vilanova’s men.

The World Player of the Year believes Neil Lennon’s side were fortunate to emerge with one of the best results in the club’s 125-year history.

Messi said: “They were very lucky. It’s a shame but we just couldn’t do anything about it.

“We did everything in the game but just couldn’t get past them.

“Celtic came at us twice and got two goals from it. When they scored they just locked their defence.

“The first goal from the corner arrived because they are a bigger team than us – it was the same as their goal in the Nou Camp.

“The second goal was our own fault.

“My goal didn’t mean too much but I’m sure I’ll score many goals and significant victories to
dedicate to the birth of my son.

“We are still in first place and we are relaxed.

“We did everything well and made good chances but the ball just didn’t go in.”

Well Lionel.......I'm afraid I only have one rational reply to this:

Over the two games we scored 3 against them.

They scored 3 against us (2 in injury time)

    If anything they were lucky.

Wee *, he's starting to get right on my balls. Xavi and Iniesta were far better in both games against us.

What's so lucky about nullifying the attack of the best team in the world for 90 mins whilst fully taking advantage of their dodgy defence (twice)?

It sounds like a game plan well executed to me rather than luck Lionel, in fact the only "luck" I witnessed on Wednesday night was how your team managed to finish the game with 11 men on the park rather than the 9 they should have.

    GIRFUY ya * midget.

Thiago Messi: Dad, who was the first team you scored against after I was born?

    Lionel Messi: Celtic, son

    Thiago: Did you win?

    Lionel: Naw son

Having read the article and his interview I don't think he's "spitting the dummy out" at all.

    Scottish * press for you.

Modern day would have to be Henrik...
    Lucky...
Lucky not to have Song sent off...
Lucky not to have Mascherano sent off
Lucky to get out of Paradise only 2-1 down.

You see, here's the thing - we did what we were good at, and they did what they were good at - by the final whistle, what they were good at wasn't as good as what we were good at... End of * story.

You'd expect the best player in the world to have a bit more class than that.

Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Pique and his manager at the examples he should of followed.

Disappointed in Messi, but I would be angry if I were in Kelvin Wilson's back-pocket for 180 minutes too.

Always liked Messi, the way he plays the game is superb and second to none, but after reading the paper this morning, I lost quite a bit of respect for him. As has been already said, they were extremley lucky to finish the game with 11 players on the park.

He hasn't really said anything that bad at all, this is just another example of the Scottish media sensationalising something. In another country it'd be a totally different headline and introduction to what he said. They seem to have got the reaction they would have wanted though!

Leave Leo alone, he hasn't said anything that's insulting to Celtic there. If we had 80 odd % possession and say St Mirren scraped two goals and beat us I think Celtic would blame themselves and not call other team lucky but you can see where he is coming from. You don't become the best player in the world by being a good loser.....................

This is what annoys me about Barca, their attitude when they lose is always every team was lucky agienst them, its never about the other team actually being better, they did it with Inter,Chelsea etc they need to get off their high horse..
